Ive also been trying to contact this company on behalf of my dim-witted (lol) partner! The no on the letter 0844 and also the one off their website, some 0800 one neither work, you press 2 for an existing claim and no matter when you ring there is nobody available to take your call ! The mind boggles ....

  • Thankfully I got my claim stopped - It took a week for them to respond. I also contacted all the people in question and got in first with my claims - which I should've done in the first place. Lesson learned. DO NOT ENTERTAIN COLD CALLERS!!

Good job I checked on here 5 minutes after the guy left. It was the absense of a website that alerted me. Then I phoned another company and they explained the 14 day get out.

    Phew.

This was the email I received from them... Maybe some of the contact details are different???

    Dear Miss Kalotka,

Thank you for your below email.

I am sorry that you no longer wish to go ahead with your claims. I can confirm that I have closed your cases down and no further action will be taken on your account.

    Kind Regards

  • Just be on your guard when accepting the quote given. We were informed we would receive £294 from our claim and of this we would have to pay them £100, however after paperwork was not received by them, they made the mistake of faxing details for me to submit again. When we looked at this it, stated we were entitled to £500. £294 was never mentioned. It looks like PPI are taking there own cut and payments also. We tried to contact them on numerous occasions to query this, only to be told, someone else is dealing with this case, or my computer doesn't have access to this account. What a set of cowboys. Can I take my claim to someone else once these muppets have supposed to have already instigated the enquiry ???

    Hi

I think if you are dealing with a claims company, and you want to complain, you can do so to the Claims Management (Ministry of justice) MOJ).
Google them in and the details will come up.

Unfortunately, Claims Management Companies (even the most "legitimate") get you to sign a legally binding contract which precludes you from acting alone or from using another firm. So you won't be able to approach anyone else.

Why you haven't simply acted alone in the first place is beyond me.

I'd like to see a breakdown of your "entitlement" figures according to their fax.

Do you realise you have no actual "entitlement"?

You are complaining about possible mis-selling of PPI. If you (through this company) have your complaint upheld, then the Bank will award you a full refund of any PPI you've paid plus 8% simple interest. PPI Advice Line will then take their percentage (25%?) plus VAT for their "services".
You aren't "entitled" to a refund unless the bank finds mis-selling fault with the sale of your PPI.

    I'm not sure a complaint to the Ministry Of Justice on the basis simply of what you've told us would get anywhere, here's the link though;
    http://www.justice.gov.uk/claims-regulation

If I were you, I'd cancel any contract you have with this firm once your complaint has been considered-especially if you had PPI with any other lenders.
  • Hi I'm hoping someone on here might be able to help me. I stupidly signed up to PPI Advice Line reclaiming my mis-sold PPI in August/Sept 2011.

I received an unbelievable bill through (not what the man sold it to me as) and I have been asking them to provide me with a copy of the signed terms and conditions they say I agreed to which detail their charges. When they didn't provide this by December 2011, I called and it was mutually agreed they wouldn't do any work for me anymore.

Then they just carried on so I emailed (as they told me to) to confirm everything and log my complaint. I still maintained if they just sent me a copy of my signature next to these charges, then I would just pay them. They then still carried on writing to me as if working on my behalf and I carried on calling through 2011.

I've phoned 6 times since November 2011 and no one ever calls me back but then I keep getting letters.

Now I've received a cancellation invoice today for £2000! This is really stressing me out now and I know I was stupid to sign up to them but I just don't know how to try and deal with this when I've done everything I can since 2011!

Any help would be really appreciated.

First check the company is still registered with the MoJ.
If it is, they can charge a 'reasonable' fee for cancelling your contract, and that is not reasonable.

look here and see if you can use any of this too

  • Hi do not use this company they have hidden charges, they say on line they charge 25% there is no mention at all of the fact they charge vat on top of that, my husband used them which was a big mistake, my advice do the claim yourself, do not use a company who are out to rip people off.

This is not a "hidden" charge. The government levy the VAT.
