Have you looked at the insurance / costs for bigger engined cars? probably wont make as much difference to the premium as you expect and you are going to need something with more grunt than a 1.4 petrol engine - these can barely tow themselves let alone another tonne tagged on the back.

£7k "we don't want your business" insurance quotes....you'll be lucky to get much less especially as you want business use. No insurance company wants you as a customer however they're not legally able to tell you that so they just ramp up the quotes to silly money.

OP try Tesco (banking not compare). Coming to the end of my ban and found them the cheapest by far. Add a female relative as named driver, will decrease the premium a lot.

I've got the license but I can't see any points on it, including paper bit where penalty points column is blank. I was only driving 6 months when I lost license and only have it back form Mid-August.

Do the insurance companies even check to see if you lost the license to begin with or have a motoring conviction?

Remember to declare to drink drive conviction for the next ten years as thats how long it will be valid for.
