Getting a fence done

Hi in last weeks terrible weather 2 huge conifers at the back of my garden were blown over and now my garden is exposed to the garages at the back of the house and therefore we need to get a fence done, could anybody possibly tell me approximately how much someone would charge to do a 6ft high fence to cover a space about 10 feet wide? and does anybody know of any companies that do a good job and are quite cheap? thanks in advance xx

    Hi
    Consider :-
1 the type of posts - all concrete, concrete bases + wooden uppers or last and least all wood posts.
2 How the post are to be fixed in the ground, concreted, spikes, bolted.
3 Do you want gravel boards to stop the wooden fence panels from rotting ? Concrete or wood ?
4 Finally what type of panel - if the fence is in or at end of a wind funnel you will need a non solid panel.

HTH as you will be better off comparing like for like quotes, there many options.....

When I had a 14m x 6ft fence put up last year it cost £440. I think that it was based on £30 per m. This was exceptionally cheap! Our house is a new build and the builders wanted £600. With it being a new house we got a few knocks at the door from "fencers" who were wanting us to part with £900.

Unfortunately I can't recommend the company to you as they're in Scotland.

I would try calling someone from the yellow pages as we did that and got a super cheap price for a fence and 2 gates fitted.

Local people can often work out very cheap.
