Npower at it again!
Yes yes yes, some of you unsuspecting consumers are about to be hit with an onslaught of npower reps. As they are about to announce another price rise, they will be sending out reps selling on the basis that h=their prices are not going up. also, reps will be telling you that they can lower your current direct debit and get £50 CASH BACK. this is all well and good for about 3-6 months. what generally happens with npower is that they set your dd far too low in order to get you to sign, after the initial revue, they increase your direct debit to more than double in some cases, and expect you to pay the increase. the only alternative is to cancel your dd, hence losing your cashback.

Oh dear I've just signed up to npower :-[Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0

if you log onto uswitch and do a price comparison, you will see that even after you get the £50 cashback, they are still one the most expensive suppliers. you will have to click on the link that says show suppliers regardless of service ratings, as they only get a two star rating.Beware the green?0

Karen, u have a cooling off period, so u may still able to cancel.
Or if this has passed then you may begin switching again almost at once, that way your account with Npower will be a very short lived one.

When u have found the best utility compnay for your usage, check their web site to see if they offer a cash back for on line sign up.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -

I had a visit Mon (21:00!!) from an nPower rep and I recognised her from a year ago. The thing is I am already with nPower and have been on both visits. It was a bit late so I didn't ask how she was going to manage to provide her promised savings! Her line was semi-offical; she claimed only to be checking I had the best deal. I asked directly if she was trying to get me to change suppliers and she said "no it all comes from the same place anyway". I take the same approach to many others - always refuse to make deals on the door step. I am looking to change suppliers following the latest price increases - does anyone have any advice as to when to shop around? Have they all finished putting up prices or should I wait a while?0

@Alan I think they were playing a game of chicken. I won't elaborate on the rules. My guess is that they can afford to put up their prices as they were second to do so after British Gas (Aka Centrica).
