    Morning (just!) all,

busy day yesterday as started a new course at college - am now in panic mode about how much I have to try and learn before the december exams .

Bit of a rubbish day here today so think it will be a lunchtime with the textbooks for me... good job I brought some lunch.

Not sure what's for dinner. I was supposed to be working away today & tomorrow but it was cancelled at the last minute so there's nothing on the meal planner. Might end up being beans on toast - always a winner :D

Hope everyone's having a good day, and hugs to all those that need them.

Shalva - what a palaver; I think you did well using up all those hours while you waited.

Beemuzed - I hope today goes a bit better for you.

Mr and Mrs Bargainbird - have a great anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to the Bargainbirds (or should it be Lovebirds!)

Bad luck Beemuzed, hope your luck improves.

I am off work today as I had a horrible case of the trots yesterday and felt particularly sick last night and this morning. School is not the place to be with a tummy bug but am wondering if it is food withdrawal symptoms. Started the Harcombe diet the other day, did it before with no ill effect but my eating habits have become worse since then. On reading the book I think it could be that. Still, got this far so I will stick with it.

Had wool delivered yesterday to knit some hats for Xmas, made one for DD which is, if I say so myself, rather good! May do that whilst I am feeling sorry for myself.

Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX

    Afternoon everyone

Hester - you made me splutter my coffee over the keyboard too!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Bit of late one for me, is damp and horrible here today, rain keeps stopping and starting. DH was up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

I had the normal chores to do only doing them a day early this week as we're heading off stupid early in the morning. Have booked a B&B just for DH and myself! ;);) Have been to bank, shopping, GPO.

Had a lovely day yesterday went to the next town for some retail therapy, was very enjoyable I left really early and the shops were mostly empty and once it got really busy I came home. I managed to pick up a couple of lovely rucksacks for my youngest nephews xmas prezzies that were in the sale, so just need another little something to go with them and they are sorted. Saw lots of good items so now have some good ideas. Was a bit naughty and did treat myself to some new underwear, got myself properly measured for bra sizes, the young assistant was fantastic and very helpful, my clothes hang completely differently and I feel so much more confident - so chose some new bras and knickers to match, got a discount because I'd been measured too. :j

Got both my xmas puds made and steamed yesterday too, so cake and puds are now wrapped up and stored, will be feeding them brandy at regular intervals, and will be marzipaning and icing cake nearer to xmas. Starting to feel like I'm getting to grips with stuff, just need to get going with the rally admin too. Have to go and crack on.

Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Happy anniversary Mr & Mrs Bargainbird!

Am having a strange sort of day today, I'm relaxed but at the same time fizzing under the surface.

Me and DH went to the dentist this morning...came out minus fifty-odd quid. :(

I've got a ham shank defrosted so will do something with it later.

My youngest DS's speech therapist is coming at 4pm to prepare him for when she starts visiting school - she should've started working with him 4 weeks ago but she 'lost' the paperwork.

DH's sister is coming at teatime to discuss lending us some money - we're thinking she's going to say no.

She said yes on Monday and told DH to text her my bank details, so he did. Then she replied a couple of hours later that she wanted to see us today to discuss it. :(

We've asked her for a couple of thousand, which yes is a lot. But she and her DH are multi-millionaires and that's like normal people giving away £20.

(She's a partner in her GP practice and has property she lets out, and her DH recently sold a string of car showrooms for over £20 million )

If she says no then the car will have to go - car tax due this weekend - will cancel the phone/broadband and will cancel one of our mobiles.

DH also said that he will jack in his University studies and sign on, but he only has another 6 weeks on his course to go and then he will graduate with a HND and degree. :(

Sorry, I'm waffling. :o ((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one.

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs BB:beer:.

Late one from me. So far have managed to do not a lot apart from walk the dog and go to the gym. Started to try and sort out some paperwork as well.

Taking big dog back soon then off to Tesco's to get an xbox game for DS with which you get a years gold membership to xbox 360 live. Seems handy as I would have bought him the game and had promised him xbox live for Xmas. Just need to go and get the wireless bit and headset. Have the money saved in DS bank account. Have really cut down on my Xmas present list this year and am not buying for my grown up nephews and neices (6 of them). Just peeves me that they never say thankyou.

Have done my shopping online this week as I really can't be bothered to trawl around the supermarket. Tea tonight is something from the freezer.

Have a good day all and big hugs to all those unwell, fed up and skint.

  • Happy anniversary bargainbirds.

Sorry to read that some people are struggling!

Not much to report from me. I am busy at work and busy at home trying to prepare for guests this weekend - so trying to fit all my weekend chores into a couple of evenings! I think Im more or less organised now - just beds etc to be done. Shopping is done so that will save a bit of time.

I need to plan some time in next week to type up my Christmas address labels - Ive been meaning to do this every year and I am determined I will succeed this year!

I am also still doing some planning for my day off next Friday - I want to get the bulk of the Christmas presents bought that day so that I can forget about them!

Oh well, I had better get on.

    Have good days all.

    Thanks BB. :A

We think that she's told her hubby and him being the awkward so-and-so that he is he's probably told her he doesn't agree with it.

I can imagine that he's said we shouldn't both be at Uni and should work, and I agree with him to a point.

If our ex-boss had paid up our final wages when we left, then we'd be OK til January - my DH graduates in December and we calculated our wages and savings would keep us going for another month whilst he finds a job.

DH had a call from ACAS earlier about our tribunals - that aren't til January :( - and he said that usually the respondents pay up before the tribunal...fingers crossed!
