Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 27th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed, DW loaded & WM chugging away.
Plans for today include some housework, finishing off all the dolls jackets I made & knitting mittens for DD1 & 2, the grandchildren & the foster children, 7 pairs in total, but it won't take long as I'm using chunky wool.
Tea tonight is spag bol.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Hester and Cat x
Yes I could have started it early too as I was awake for hours in the night. Pondering on my battle with the NHS :mad::mad:
Anyway I hope you get a rest later x
Not much OS going on at the moment. In fact rather the opposite but hopefully will get back on track next week when kids are back at school and work.
Have a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
morning hester & catsmith, and all who follow!
i heated up some soup out of the freezer last night to find i'd dumped a tin of tuna it- WHY?? no idea! was horrible so i had two cupcakes for dinnerwaitrose had their really pretty ones reduced to 9p so i bought a few, the couple in front got a £14 celebration cake for 50p
i have cleaning(bathroom), washing, university work to do today after my lectures zzz!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Gosh! It didn't half rain in the night, and more promised for today. I could have told THEM that. My youngest son and family are over here for the day and it always rains when they come, (or snows.)
Not much OS planned. I am taking everybody out to lunch, via the toy shop, and when they have gone home I have a church council meeting. So the will be no time for anything useful today. I feel quite guilty. I will be making some of my DGSs favourite biscuits before they get here, so what we don't eat with coffee he can take home with him. And that's about it.
Loads of love and loving thoughts to all who are depressed or harrassed or in pain, or just generally feeling yucky.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all,
Seems quite mild here still, no heating on yet, hopefully we can hold out a bit longer.
Off to work today, and then scampi chips and peas for dinner tonight, also need to out a wash on, which will have to go on the airer.
DD at home today, so she can tidy kitchen and lounge. Still fee a bit rubbish, but not bad enough to stop me going to work.
Kathy I hope you feel better soon xx
Candy, at least you know what it is now, hugs xx

Hi everyone.
Thanks, Redruby, but I'm still feeling pretty crap and have raced through the chores so that I can lie down on the sofa for a couple of hours. I had very little sleep last night because I keep coughing. I'm sorry that you still don't feel a hundred percent. Hope you feel better as the day goes on.
In fact, I'm just popping in to say hi to everyone before I try to catch up on some sleep.
OS-wise, dinner will be spag bol, and that's about it. We usually have a pudding but DH will have to sort that one out when he comes home!
Hester - did your DH like his thank you present?!
Anyway, off to get my head down.

Bit damp here, but not cold. Not enough washing for a load, so get a day off! Going to J32 outlet place with DSis today; have put SC on (first time!) so hope we come back to a nice beef and veg stew and not to the fire brigade!!
Have a good day all, hope the poorlies are getting better, plenty of hugs and kisses for all.
