Activity Superstore - Warning!

Hi everyone. First time on this part of the board, however the company above has really made me blow a fuse. Dishonest cheats.
We were given a £75 gift card by Family for WHSmiths. They use Activitysuperstore as their provider and we selected as a couple "Top Priced theatre tickets for 2 and a Meal for 2" as the activity. In order to do this we paid using Credit Card another £44 to get up to the activity value. Based on the price of tickets booked direct it was about breakeven, but since most of it was a gift we didn't mind.
When the confirmation arrived allowing us to select our show it stated again "top price tickets" on the letter, but when we tried to book only restricted view third price seats were allowed. They said this was true for all dates for this show.
We queried why their website was misleading and their letters to us and they said we could send the voucher back to them and get a refund of the £45 as well as choosing a different £75 experience. They also agreed to extend the validity of our card by a month just so we had more dates to choose from.
We enclosed a covering letter stating we were unahappy but accepting their suggestion.
When my wife called them back they were rude to her. They claimed they had never promised a refund and that their website which promises refunds within 28 days wasn't correct for "our case". They claimed we'd never been "authorised to send in the vouchers" and that the lady we spoke to telling us to do so claimed she had never told us that.
They refused to refund to her card and so far have refused to send us an e-mail or letter stating that or why their decision stands. They insist we have to spend the full voucher now with them and that the period extention also wasn't agreed so we have to book and do the activity by 31/12/11.
When I speak to them, they keep promising to e-mail or write but never do, or call back.
Seems their tactic is to just lie and keep your cash and mislead. One last thing, they updated their website last night to remove "top priced tickets" from the title to be replaced with something like "great tickets". I have screenshots before and after. So our complaint has helped them, but they are happy to have conned us in the first place.

Check out the Watchdog website. Watchdog did a report on Smith's gift experiences last Thursday.
Gift experiences were being bought for people for x amount when their actual true value / value when recipient went to claim was a lot less - I think they claim its an admin fee or something ??0 -
Flat Eric is right. This was on watchdog last week or the week before. Look on their website there may be some suggestions on what to do.
If you get no suitable replies off them, I would contact watchdog."If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money can't buy":j0 -
