If you don't have email, let me know and I'll pass on your message for you.
Naturally, I have email - However, I do have pop ups disabled ;)

Do indeed pass on my message: I shall look forward to the dialogue :)

Fuds (if I may call you that?) I haven't raised the subject due to any timelapse issues (well, that's not entirely true: to be fair, I am limited on my time exposure so, by default that means there are lifestyle timelapse issues :o ) and to be more fair, those time issue have encroached on my other demands of the day! (Tonight, at least!)

Please, fuddles, there is no need for you to apologise; I read the forum rules before I joined (even if my understanding may be a tad hazy?) My only bug bear is: if a subscribed thread is closed (I don't want the politics of it!) can the closing post please add links to a similar thread so that valuable knowledge/info can continue to be shared!? In this instance, it transpires that there is an alternative thread to read: so why not say so in the closing post????

I do get that the original one became personal (even deleted posts were easy to interpret by following posts!) between two posters: their fight is their fight - I'm not interested!!!!! I *am* interested in the wisdom/knowledge of the overall ethos of the thread!!!

My query thread did not (as far as I was able to ascertain in the time span it was open) contain any potentially adverse comments - yet it was closed - and so I can't help but feel that draconian measures were applied when there was (at that point, at least!) little reason to do so!

Yes, I too hope we can find a thread where we can all be buddies, and any animosity between certain posters, can be ignored/disregarded/deleted! I am aware that I am not the most diplomatic of posters (on other forums) but that doesn't make my views invalid, per se.

In a democracy, majority rules: on MSE, it appears, minority seems to take precedence (which ain't democratic :( )

Either way, I thank you for the time you took to post and the thought behind trying to make amends ;) I get that :)

I used the report button to send the following to the Forum Team...
I'd like to report this forum post/thread because...

The OP would like to make their concerns known to the Forum Team and has asked that I notify you of this since their browser has pop-ups disabled and so cannot email the Forum Team address.

Using the report button notifies the Forum Team of the the thread link and the user name of the reporting member.

It is not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Any views are mine and are not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.

    Thank you :)

Yet, my feeling is, the forum team will not enter any dialogue and any decision is arbitrary :) This could be interpreted as: pointless ;)

I thank you for your time, nonetheless :)

Hi, I posted a thread when I couldn't sleep last night but was dosed up with sleeping tablets. I realise having read this one that I shouldn't have, so apologise. Also, I have a touchscreen iPad and sometimes catch the report button by mistake and it reports a post. I always thought that it would be obvious that it was a mistake and never realised that you knew who 'reported' it anyway. Should I do something in those circumstances?

Sorry if this is the wrong place, to post this. I just followed through from reading a question and realised I was wrong. Esther

You cant report a post by mistake as when you have hit the report button, it brings up a form that needs to be sent.

The MSE website like the vast majority is not democratically run. It is owned and funded by Martin Lewis and is run according to his wishes. What he says goes....end of.
