No reason, no explanation???

I asked, why when a thread is closed, why are you not directed to where to find the ones that "replace" it/has a similar vein/content re: advice/wisdom (aka, has a similar wealth of knowledge?)0

This is true - I asked a question last week about the menopause and my question was merged with another thread but I didnt know where it had gone.0

Hi 3v3,
Squeaky had asked that no new threads were started until we heard back from the forum team. The original thread has been removed.
As board guides only follow guidelines provided by the forum team I'll move your thread over to the Site Feedback board where it will be seen by the forum team.
Alternatively you can contact them by sending an email to:

Good evening all
I've just logged on for the evening.
I am going to close this thread. Please would everyone refrain from raising again any issues that arise from other threads which are under review by the Forum Team. As Pink correctly pointed out - the only place to query decisions by the Forum Team is by emailing them directly.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Board guides are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an inappropriate or illegal post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. I didn't ask for a new thread (as per "Squeaky") - that is your inhouse politics which I have no intention of getting involved in! I merely asked why, when a thread is subscribed to - and we're not all here on a daily basis! - and thus closed, we are not given information/links to threads of a similar nature? Is that really "unreasonable"?
I notice there is a tendancy when new threads mirror older threads, they are merged/linked to. Fair enough! I can understand the efficiency in that.
The difficulty arises when subscribed threads are closed (due to a minority - which most posters couldn't give a tuppence for! - fall out) and are left in limbo! People subscribe to threads for their value and input - close by all means if it becomes personal/contentious - but at least harness the ability to point people in the direction of similar (non-contentious!) threads in the same vein?
By closing my thread (non-contentious and overtly so!) you send out a very draconian, autocratic and, rather rude (!) message.
If you are reliant on another poster to endorse your opinions/sanctions/actions .... are you not au fait with the remit of your responsibilities?
Strange behaviour, indeed!0 -
i saw it as helpful as the "not mentioning" thread is an alternative for you to post on, if the BG's were to post on every closed thread a link to a new one they'd be overrun, especially as not all of them have new ones.Nonny mouse and Proud!!
