Hubby and i used the last of our entertainment budget this month to buy Modern warfare 3 today. i am loving it. he is playing right now, its nice that its something we both enjoy, and it tends to shock most other blokes!

You could always stick the food on the bus to me; kind of like an extreme meals on wheels!
Will need to try that banana bread recipe. I love it heated up with custard as a pudding instead of having it as a "piece" (good Scottish word) with your cuppa but to be honest I'll have it any way it comes!
I'm impressed by your meal plan an amazed that I like every single thing on it as I thought I was a fussy thing! Is your meal plan based on what you have in the house or will you need to buy things? I'm going to work through my stocks but will need to buy the odd fresh thing but I have a plan not to not spend actual money by returning something I don't need.
Happy gaming!

Freezer jackpot is like lucky dip to clear out the odds and ends of stuff (like 1 portion of cod in tomato and rosemary sauce, frozen rice etc!)
Nov meal plan is from stores yep! apart from veg but i get an organic veg box delivery every 2 weeks which is enough for us both
when i next go upto Greenock in Jan i think i will take a HM cake up for the boys that work for/with me
my chest freezer is bursting!:p its about time i ran it down so i can stock up on bargains on Xmas eve haha i love me some reduced xmas bits!

I do love the idea of a freezer jackpot. Does this mean that each member of the family gets as different meal on that day? Do you end up with some odd combos?
I always think those veg boxes look really nice but they aren't really practical for someone on their own like me. Do the contents change throughout the year? Can you specify not to receive something that you don't like?
I think I will conveniently be in Greenock on cake day and snatch it from you before you give it to the boys!
They do say that a well stocked freezer is an efficient freezer but you do need somewhere to stash those Christmas Eve bargains. I'm usually working in a supermarket on Christmas Eve so the idea of being there any longer than I have to in order to look for bargains is hellish! MSE News: Went to work from the "switch" today. i would normally eat from the canteen but took a packed lunch AND a drink

NSD for me!
Yep - freezer jackpot means hubby and i end with random food, but it clears up the oddments!
Veg boxes are great, we get one every few weeks a medium one lasts us well
todays cost £15.65
we got- parsnips
- carrots
- red onions
- white potatos
- sweet potatos
- savoy cabbage
- romanesco cauliflower
- vine tomatoes
- peppers
- brussel sprouts
they do smaller boxes to and i think its a case of picking the box which most suits you, you can change it every time, or example dec 21st we are getting a large veg box
its totally seasonal and really tastes so much nicer.
ahhh the joys of retail at xmas. i was a store manager for the last 4 years until April this year, ive now moved over to a corporate role in the same company and actually have 2 whole weeks off at xmas!!!:TDFW - Debt Free Date July 2013, LBM Oct 2011

Well done on your NSD! I had to spend today which has annoyed me a but as managed NSDs since Sundaay.
That sounds like a nice selection and reasonable at the price. Do you use a local company or national one? If it's national then do you have a link for them? I'd have to request an onion free box as I hate the things. It's not very money saving of me as onions are relatively cheap and good at bulking out dishes but I just am not a fan of the things!
Lucky you being off for a fortnight over Christmas. I have had to work over Christmas for years although not the past two but that's due to illness so doesn't really count.Council Tax £1,928.85, Fines £90.00, Old Car Tax £267.00, Gas £337.25, Electric £54.42

They cover all of England it appears but not Scotland I'm afraid. Thanks anyway Paula!Council Tax £1,928.85, Fines £90.00, Old Car Tax £267.00, Gas £337.25, Electric £54.42

I've found a few up by me so have emailed for details of how much is in a box, how often I have to buy etc as don't want to end up with too much veg! Will keep you posted.
Don't even mention Body Shop. I use their entire men's face care range and think I have enough just now but the keep emailing me money off vouchers which are tempting but have so far resisted. In one way I'm being money saving, another not! I bet they won't have any decent offers when I do need to stock up though.
Anyway, enough of my moans! What did you treat yourself to?Council Tax £1,928.85, Fines £90.00, Old Car Tax £267.00, Gas £337.25, Electric £54.42
