When does the housing market begin to pickup again? New year or the Sping?

Nothing seems to be coming on at the moment, as a result we are probably going to wait til next year. Just wondering as its all so slow in the past few weeks does it begin to pickup in the new year or in the spring eg march?

My crystal ball is slightly hazy but the number's 2015 are showing up for me!
Sorry, but honestly no one knows do they. As long as things carry on as they are house prices could continue to drop, so the market stays slow, there is no way anybody can predict. In my area if you want to sell quickly you have got to price it low, but there are a lot of people who can't afford to, so houses just aren't selling.
Oh and also people probably don't want the hassel of moving over christmas, so I guess you might get more houses on in the new year, but with how things are I cant see it would make much difference.0 -
Haha....oh know was definitely hoping to move next year!0

I think I never made myself clear...because its nearly xmas the market has slowed in the last few weeks. Up to a few weeks ago loads of properties were coming on, so I guess its because of xmas and then (hopefully) pickup in the new year0

Yes, there are seasonal variations in the market. March is generally the time things pick up, but maybe not that much. It costs money to move, and people ain't spending. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I agree that March is probably going to be month that things start to pick up again, people just don't want to buy during the winter months. That said, I think if you want to sell a house at any time of year you have to price it to sell. Sad times, but hopefully it will pick up soon.0

You wanting to buy somewhere is music to my ears!! We're about to put our house on the market (again!) after we decided against going with a part-ex. Everyone keeps telling us it's the wrong time of year to market a house and not to bother. It angers me because the last two houses I've bought I made the offer in October and completed a week before Christmas so I'm a believer that there ARE people out there looking to buy and you're proof of it.
Whereabouts are you looking? Do you wanna buy my house?
