We probably wouldn't, CC, but we already have a 3-tier steamer that we've not used in ages ... Doh!

Oh, and congrats on that extra star!

Don't go camping but we do go sailing which is probably similar to caravan. We have a two ring cooker with oven (no grill) and a sink which drains out into the briney. No hot water and the cold water has to be pumped up with a foot pump (I stand at the sink when I get home and automatically move my foot to where I expect the footpump to be). So similar sorts of issues to caravanners.
Some things I have found helpful - a garden spray (the sort you pump up) makes an excellent shower with just half a kettleful of hot water. You can actually buy a shower head attachment from Hoselock. (We used that at home when the bathroom had been half ripped out and the builders just had to finish another job.....)
A two tier saucepan with a steamer top means you can cook potatoes and veg on one ring. With a pressure cooker on the other ring I could cook a stew. I also used to use the pressure cooker to sterilise baby's bottles - stand them upside down on the trivet then put the basket on the top with collars and teats in. Add half a pint of water and steam without the weight for ten minutes. Also used to bath the girls in a plastic crate - easier than trying to cope with showers.

Most recent discovery - I swear by the special plastic bags from Lakeland which keep food fresh for ages - they really work

so why is it after all these years I still forget to pack teatowels??
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

We also loved having a tin of minced beef in gravy with tinned potatoes and a tin of carrots and peas. Very easy to cook in a caravan. Also, a portable BBQ did the trick for a lot of meals too!

Ohhh, that brings back lovely memories - tinned mince lol, but I know it'll be frowned on :D

And great idea about the George Foreman EdinburghLass, they hadn't been invented when we had our caravan

We used to go camping with our 4 children, I used a pressure cooker quite a bit and a steamer is useful too, we had a two burner gas hob, it did have a grill, but it was not very efficient so tended not to use it.........

I did use quite a bit of tinned food then, but latterly when we had the caravan we ate just as we would have at home..... I must admit we did have an oven in the van and I took along quite a bit of stuff ready prepared, we had a small freezer compartment in the fridge, one thing you can do especially if you are ttravelling around, if you buy milk and want to keep it cook in the car, buy packet of something frozen i.e. peas and put the milk and the peas into the freezer bag together, the frozen peas will defrost so you can use them for supper and the milk will stay cool.
