I got one today! Post Office kindly provided one in my change when I sent some ebay stuff. Up to £24 since 6th Jan - not bad... and hardly noticed them go from my purse, if i can keep that up for 2007 I will have saved over £240...

I just started saving my £2 coins, in January I saved £10, a good start!

Where does everyone save their coins? Do you have special tins?

I have my :footie: Lincoln City FC :footie: money box, in the shape of a shirt, from about 10 years ago. Hole in the bottom is an awkward shape so it can be hard getting the coins out again!

That seems like an important feature! Either impossible or difficult to retrieve the coins.... I'll try to find something suitable, at the moment it's too tempting as they're in a pocket in my bag.

I'm not doing too well at all at the moment. Have got £8. Seems to be a major shortage of £2 coins in Wales!
  • I had stopped colected at the back end of last year and managed to collect the total you can see below. I have just decided to start again so a few have disappeared into my sealed tin this week. We'll see how things go this year!!!

  • WOW! Well done runner duck! Although, if you save that much a month, start banking them each month to earn lovely interest as you go! I am seriously impressed - have you thought of joining the Olympic Challenge on the Debt Free Wannabe board?

Hello, can I join? Been reading this thread for a while and always thought it was a good idea, yesterday I got a £2 coin and put it in my loose change tin so thought that'd be the start - not sure what I'm gonna use them for yet, but probs christmas treats that I can never afford to do at the time ie: cinema tickets/panto tickets/ice skating, think it'll be my 'family treat jar', just need to source and purchase a tin that I can't get into :D

Only on £2 but it still feels good!! I get excited by £2 coins now....maybe I need to get out more?

Mine are in a fat little ceramic penguin. He gives me a disapproving look if I think about opening him up!
