I would like to join this club too. Started collecting £2 coins about 4 weeks ago and as DH gets quite a few each night we are already above £60 but not sure by how much as haven't been counting. Cut a hole in the lid of a plastic tub big enough for the coins to go in but too small to try and get any out again and completely suck the lid on with duct tape so not easy to raid it. Have done this before but kept raiding the jar but really need to save them this time around. Going to use them to pay for the ferry to Mull in July, some camping fees and a bit of spending money. Ferry for the four of us plus car is about £80 so well on the way there, will wild camp for a couple of days so no fees there and site camp for another couple of days so up to £24 depending on which sites we use. Once that is out of the way going to keep saving them until October 2008 which will be our 15th Anniversary. Want to do something special for that.

Can I join? I save £2 coins but I have no idea how much as they are in one of those unopenable tin money boxes which you have to open with a can opener.

After hearing how a lot of you use them I went and bought one of those unopenable tins from the pound shop today. The duct tape was not going to hold out I don't think as I was desperate to see how much we had saved. Well I thought it would be over £60 but including £6 that DH put in on Sunday the total was £104:j :j . That is the ferry to Mull and campsite fees covered and that only took about 3 or 4 weeks so if it carries on like that we should have more than enough spending money. Need to go and adjust my signature now

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site but just wanted to say how amazing it is, reading all these comments is so enspiring. I have my £2 tin and feel no erge to raid it, seeing how much you all save makes me want too as well. So thanks for all your comments.
Would love to earn an extra £40 a Week. Trying to find ways to :-)

Got three over the bank holiday taking the pot up to £70. :j

Welcome to wam73 and hapless - you wait - you will soon be hunting them down and swapping them over and mourning any that you have to spend.

This ADDICTIVE and GREAT FUN and a FANTASTIC way of saving for whatever you decide to put the money towards :rotfl:
