Just come back from holiday, turned the comp on a few days ago, updated all virus stuff etc.
Just now, my norton is flashing red with an exclamation mark, so I opened it up and it says 'outbreak alert - urgent attention, Trojan.peacomn'
When I press 'protect me now' it says it can't do it and takes me to symantec site.
Anyone any ideas about this ? What to do ? I have not clicked on the trojan.peacomn link and don't plan to
Any advice would be great, my comp seems to be running fine at this time, normal speed.
Have windows xp, Norton, spybot, windows defender
Ta in advance

This site has an automatic removal program for peacomm about half way down the page:

I have had the exact same thing happen to me and I can't use protect me now either, only just came on today0

Just trying to download now, will get back in a wee while****************************0

When I tried to download the removal software, it has downloaded spyware doctor and I am performing a full system scan at the moment.
Is this right ? Will the full scan find it and sort it for me ? I am a total novice when it comes to things like this and what has caused this to happen ? A bad file ?****************************0 -
From what I can see, it comes from an email attachment. There is a big list of the likely email titles on the Symantic site (incidentally, their software has a fix for this trojan too).
The scan it is doing should detect and remove it (as will Spy Sweeper if you prefer to use that)0 -
Scan is in progress, at 83% and found 19 infections so far - eek !
Thanks for all your help, much appreciated****************************0 -
You're welcome.0

The scan just finished and it says I have to register that costs me £20 - am I doing something wrong ? I assumed it was free
If it's the only way I can fix my comp then I will do it, but would prefer not to have to fork out £20 if I don't have to.****************************0 -
Oh, that's not good, when I used it, it was free. I'll have a look and see what else I can find.0
