computer on go slow at the moment, it's grinding to a halt, I have 3 scans running and hopefully one of them will help ??
Any advice that will help immediately would be appreciated as it's taking me 10 mins to go into a new page, therefore can't do links, but will keep this open
Thank you****************************0 -
Well, I've had another look at the sites I had bookmarked but no joy sorry.
One question though, are your Norton profiles up to date? Only their site says they protect again peacomm so it's odd it didn't at least quarantine it0 -
they should be, they are on automatic****************************0

The scans will be what's slowing it down lol
If you haven't already tried it, when you've done these scans, you could try Trend Micro housecall antivirus. It's a free online scan but it does take a bit of time (especially first use) http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp
Other than that, I'm out of ideas other than following the Symantic instuctions for manual deletion via the registry0 -
I am having the same problem it says
'Your computer is not protected against these rapidly expanding threats
Threat name
Trojan.Peacomm
You can then click on proctect me now which takes you to update virus definitions which then says failed, I am at a loss as what to do0 -

So, it's not actually saying you are infected, just that you are not protected against it yet?!?!
I would just keep trying to update the virus definitions then. It could just be a problem with the site at the moment that is stopping it automatically doing it.0 -
it was on go slow before the scans and I know they will be slowing it down now, but I need to find out which one will pick it up and quarantine it for me
FAO loobylou36, I suggest you try and follow what has been suggested for me and have my sympathy for being in the same boat****************************0 -
yes you are correct I think alison74 is having the exact same problem it is not infected but just won't auto protect, I have been trying for the past hour to switch to auto protect without success0
-
alison74, i don't think you have a virus, it just the internet security warning you that you aren't protected, I will keep trying to click on auto protect0

When you get the Norton control panel come up on the screen click the "Live Update" buton at teh top of the screen. it will download the neccessary updates and you will have to restart the PC. You may have to do this twice as it will also update anti spam software
Hope this helps0
