Hi guys, I took out a Virgin trial on 15/01/11 for the whole package for about two weeks before cancelling it vowing never to watch TV again.

So, why did you not buy a licence when you bought your Virgin subscription?

You do not need to inform TVL of anything at all, they may like you to but thats not the same as what is law or what you need to do.

I don't really care, I've got a license. I'm just going by what the website says about not having a license. Whether you don't have to, need to or should... it makes no difference to me. So probably best to direct your comments towards the OP :T

    I lol'd at this thread!!

"I hate TV" isn't really a valid defence. You need to inform TV Licensing that you don't watch or record TV as it is broadcast, by signing their declaration online. This stops them sending you the standard letters they issue to unlicensed households.

Oh that it would. I've been online twice to complete the forms, and have rang to tell them that we don't need a license and that I've stated that online. Did it stop the escalating threats? Not a sausage; I've had at least 4 letters since then, each one getting more aggressive in tone and the latest stating that we're now under official investigation, and that a visit is authorised and imminent.

OK, but how do they expect to get access to a children's playgroup? We're like Fort Knox. There'll be an impolite instruction to foxtrot oscar, and then the Police will be contacted.

It's legalised bullying and it's pretty disgraceful behaviour by a bunch of yobs.
