    Check out e-bay.

I found this - haven't read it in detail. However it seems that they have 100 chair covers for hire at £1.50 each plus a £50 delivery charge. So approximately £200 all in??? Speedy maths so may be incorrect!

I like the idea of making them and then starting to hire them out after (or before) your own wedding :) what a neat way of helping to fund your wedding hehehe

I don't know if your any good at making them yourself but theres a few sellers on ebay selling cheap white chiffon. Then you could get a nice ribbon or something to tie round it.

As for the favours I bought favour bags off ebay again from a seller called 'Pouches and Bows' I think. I'm going to put a love heart chocolate, a small flower and some black sugared almonds in each one.

Oh my goodness! Just been looking at wedding venues myself (don't get me started on prices!) and about 3 of them state that you MUST use the chair covers they hire out if you want to use chair covers! Talk about monopoly!

I honestly don't see anything wrong with the chairs - all eyes will be on bride. Maybe you could put some helium ballons in your colour scheme at the end of every other row, then after the ceremony you could release them (maybe getting tags with your names attached).

As for favours I made mine myself with sugared almonds, netting stuff and a little flower and ribbon, My mum, sister and I sat one night and made them but honestly most people just put them in a cupboard and forget about them.

I can't believe they make you have the chair covers. If their chairs are that bad they should get some new ones.

I'm getting married in a church so hopefully I won't have all this.

    Hello

Anyone got any clever ideas for wedding Favours and cheap workaround for chair covers.. think we've got costs for £3.50 - £4.50 per chair.. which can add up when you got 90 guests going and thats only for hire..

    Much appreciated.

We didn't have favours - very moneysaving - :o, but friends have had things from tealights and holders (30p each from Ikea - looked really effective), to lottery tickets and John Deere lollipops :D (if you're into tractors :D).

The chair covers, we NEARLY had, but found out that by "upgrading" the chairs, it actually cost less than if we'd had chair covers. Obviously, only applicable if your venue allows you to do that!

IMO you dont need the chair covers, once a bum is on it you wont even see them :D

yes they look good ,dont get me wrong BUT the money could be well spent elsewhere on more important things ( IMO ;) )

Lils idea is a good un and a fair compromise i think :)

Is there any other weddings happening in the venue week before/after may be you could share the costs. For our favours i bought a box of clear bags that closed, and had old style kids sweets marshmellows, cola cubes and flying saucers, then stapled the bag closed with a matching purple feather so they matched the napkins.

What ever happens it will be a fabday good luck XX
Would love to be a "Yummy Mummy" but more a "Slummy Mummy"!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
  • For some favour ideas you could try looking at some websites - the two biggest suppliers in the UK are Italian Options and Club Green. Sadly neither of them sell directly to the public but the sites have some pretty ideas on them.
