I'm not a fan of referendums because by and large (I'm sure most people posting here aren't!) the general public are either idiots or completely ignorant on almost every important matter..

At the end of that slippery slope is the way people vote (or don't) in the general elections, or the franchise/suffrage in general.

That aspect not helped, of course, by our elected 'representatives' ignoring their constituents as mine did when I contacted him prior to this vote.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
  • So it is the fault of the people who have moved here for work? or is it the SYSTEM, EU, that allows corporations access to the cheapest labour. Why move your factory when you can get the monkeys to up sticks and move! This IS the divide your enemy, and prosper from the "race to the bottom" that the workers can be made to dance to before turning on each other.

Do you think laws should be made on religious grounds? Religion, or belief, are not true or odious false! They are, geographical.

In answer to your first point: No it isn't the fault of the people who moved here for work. And it IS the fault of the successive governments as far back as the 1950s. The EU has worsened the problem by legislating and having a "supreme" court that tells us what to do. (And that none of us in the UK were made aware of when joining).

All this could have been avoided back in the 50s (Mr McMillan's bright idea btw to let cheap foreign labour in) by giving a permit of licence to work for renewable time limits.... similar to a visa and NOT permitting citizenship unless the immigrant worked here for at least 10 years and then only on special application.

Mc Millan and Ted Heath ought to be dug up and have their heads displayed on spikes at the tower of London for their outrageous treason.

As for this asylum stuff... the rules are broken there too... it's only the immediate borders that you have to allow asylum seekers from ... Wales, Scotland France and Ireland, at a push I suppose you could argue the USA or Iceland.
The nearest safe country to Afghanistan or China is not the UK.
So asylum seeker from any of those rogue domains could and should be legally sent to a more appropriate haven ASAP.

Your second point about Law and religion.... yes I do think Law can be made on religious ground and throughout history have been for better or worse.
I agree you are correct in your observation that religion is geographical in origin however some of the more fanatical and alien to this region (UK) has appeared in the last 40 + years and it's influence is polluting the natural balance of English civilisation with medieval heathen values beliefs and doesn't belong here and shouldn't be here has no right here and it's time it's exorcised out of here....and it makes everyone uneasy and uncomfortable especially when the EU are pandering to this violent heathen nonsense making it an offence to say anything but the UK must get and impose autonomy and should outlaw this violent and dangerous religion and it's adherents sent back to their "geographical" & spiritual place of origin. Some would say get thee back to hell Allah and your Persian empire.

Second point about alien and dangerous false beliefs + religions has come about as a direct result of McMillan and Heath's blundering policies of cheap labour supplies... yet today the recent governments have learned nothing... they're STILL doing it!

It may be a short term fix... but 20, 30, 50 years on ....just look at the consequence of ethnic labour with drug dealers, religious fanatics, criminals ..... Yes we've imported everything that's bad.

Mrs Thatcher on one her rare occasions of political brilliance did formulate an answer but it was quashed by the wet wing of the Conservatives. It involved being able to trace back your paternal great grandparents to the UK.

Oh, you do believe in the bogeyman! Scaremongering clap trap. Religion is used to scare the public. Gubberments use scare tactics and divide, confuse and conquer to subdue and control critical thinking within the public.
There are remarks on here that the public is too stupid to vote on the EU question. I would challenge that the public is too conditioned to care about newsreaders dancing than to understand and have an opinion on anything that has an effect on their lives. But, I feel that more and more are realising that their lives are being used as pieces on a playing board. And they are fed up of plutoticians signing their lives away as serf or blue uniformed stormtroopers or khaki gun toters to kill and mame, and be killed and mamed. All in the name of profit for the plutotician's friend down the pall mall club.
main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.

Obviously, it is not going to be sufficient merely to leave the EU, we have to get the country off this planet. The sooner the better.
