On the same vein - Calloway Crossing Cabernet Shiraz is £9.99 in Mr T's and £5 in Mr A. So potentially £14.96 for 6 bottles in JTD kicks in?

    Hi Caz

I got this on a jtd at the weekend and it worked but now the 25% deal is on it could be much more productive. :D

Its not our favourite Gallo but is still nice.

No idea if this one price matches (other Gallos have in the past) but:

    Gallo Merlot Rose (750ml)
    T: £6.29
    A: £6.46 BUT 3 for £10

    6 bottles in T = 6 * 6.29 = 37.74 - 25% = 28.31
    6 bottles in A = 2 * (3 for 10) = 20

Thanks, will be on my list for tomorrows shopping

If the same glitch works as last time (comparison done against full price in Ts and not with the 25% off) then you'd get back £17.74 in JTD having only paid £28.31 so £1.76 per bottle. 2nd worst case you get the £8.31 JTD and pay £3.33 per bottle (almost half price). Worst case scenario it doesn't compare and knowing Ts, this is the more likely scenario.

Anyone game? I've no idea if this is a nice bottle as I normally drink the Zinfandel or Grenache roses. There are other 3 for £10 wines but this is the dearest one and probably the only one I'd drink.

please bear with me...kids are off school
so if i buy 6 bottles for £28.31 inc the 25% and i get a jtd of £17.74 i could only pay £10.58 for 6 bottles?is this right??:)

    Yup.

Tesco saw the total bill last time as the price before the 25% kicked in. This means you get the JTD because of the great 3 for £10 deal in Asda but what you've actually paid is 25% less than the price comparison shows. This happened last time and I got a load of Gallo for next to nothing.

Raven - between you and/or the swmbo, what is the merlot like comapred to teh grenache or zinfandel? I prefer sweet or fruity wines so if this is dry I'll give it a miss.
  • thanks,i got 48 bottles last time the offer was on but run out now hahaha :/

We prefer the Grenache and the Zinfandel but this is not bad at all, its not as sweet but it is light. Basically I paid £10 for three bottles and thought it was a good buy - that said we still prefer the G and Z
