Help!
I don't drink wine (i'm a good old vodka gal!!) so wouldn't know the first place to start!
Could anyone recommend a "good" wine with the best value for money?
We are having xmas dinner for about 40/50 people! (We are a BIG group of friends that hire the local community hall on xmas day, all cook a bit, not just one person cooking:eek: Shockingly, we'd probably go through about 40 bottles, with a cheeky bottle of vodka!)
Anyway went slightly off track there!
Can anyone recommend something? and the best way ie multiples of 6 etc to buy? Need a bit of everything red/white/rose.
Thanks so much in advance:o0 -
Going mad I can see it on mysupermarket now. I am definitely giving it a go later. I found the previous ones in the rose section.0

Had a good shop today, although a little confused at how the CS worked out my DTD. Can anyone else work out what she has done?
I bought 6x Finest Arg wine at 7.49 each, SEL said 2 for £10 out of date label. Then the till took off £11.24 which was the 25% offer.
I went to CS and told them it hadn't gone through for 2 for £10 and she refunded me £22.40. I can't work out where she got this amount from. Does anyone else get how she came to this figure? Thanks0 -

Is there any chance that any of your bottles were a slightly different wine - several of the Gallo ones look very similar.ELITE 5:2

You should have paid £22.50 (6 bottles on 2 for £10 = £30 less 25%)
You paid 7.49 x 6 = £44.94 less £11.24 = £33.70.
You were overcharged £11.20 (ie £33.70 less £22.50), so DTD is £22.40.

TIA xResults just come through for online shop on Tuesday and instore shop yesterday. Confirmed £20 JTD voucher for 6 bottles of Mateus Sparkling £8.48 T, £5.00 A. :j:j:j
Mateus is £8.48 in Tesco (£5 in Asda) so 6 bottles will cost £50.88. 25% off means a total of £38.16. JTD will return a capped voucher of £20 (you lose out on a whole 88p because of the cap). This means 6 bottles in effect cost £18.16 or £3.02 per bottle.0
