I was in the same mind as you, so many to choose from i didn't now which one to get for the best, so managed to get this one from amazon for £211.65 which i thought was a good deal especially for a 11 year old to do home work and face book on

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00452UCLQ/ref=sc_pgp__m_A2BGYRYHZVTY9R_1?ie=UTF8&m=A2BGYRYHZVTY9R&n=&s=&v=glance

    It's not £211 now!

Fujitsu Lifebook has arrived, is all set up and working! I have a very happy daughter!

Thanks for all the advice. I think that it is a good laptop for under £300.

Hope she gets many years from it. Shame the extended warranty appears to have gone missing.
With built in Bluetooth, spill resistant keyboard, HDMI output and an ExpressCard slot for expandability, it's all a girl could want. :)
    A well rounded machine.
  • HI, sorry to add to this thread but I can't seem to find how to start one! :o
I am looking in the same price bracket, my daughter prefers something in pink or blue, or something that looks very smart, she also likes to have the numbers to the side - which I know cuts it down a lot. She takes loads of photos and videos, so needs good storage space.
Most importantly, I want to get it very very soon. I have looked in argos -as there are 2 local I can pick up from - but I know so little, and not all have reviews. She has had a dell studio which was a nightmare - poor quality charger, buttons fell off, and other problems.
Any simple advice very welcome please.
    thanks.
