Laptop recommendation £350 to £400

I wouldn't choose either over the cheaper Fujitsu.0 -
There was a deal on with the HP ProBook 4320s (basically £299 after £100 cashback). I can't find it now. Think it might have ended. They are always worth keeping an eye out for and IMO trump the other recommendations so far in this thread. Sure, the HDD might not be as large but that's no biggy for the type of use you've specified. The build quality alone will be a big win and 3 year care pack can be had for £13.
Check here actually, they now have the 4520s for £299 and they also allow you a trade in of £150 against any old working laptop (meaning you pay, £150 for an HP 4520s 15", 2nd Gen i3 and 3GB RAM).
Ahh, the 4320s is here too (13" 2nd gen i3, dedicated graphics, etc).

You are neglecting to add the VAT. That will bring the price to £350.
In addition, it's a 1st Generation i3 processor, not 2nd.
Not bad if you a specifically looking for the smaller screen, but remember, you still have to pay out £450 initially.
You can find it here0 -
Looking a bit deeper...there are some bargains to be found(not necessarily the ones you have mentioned), but you may find that the Trade-ins are limited to schools and businesses.
So if you have a business connection and a computer to trade, you might be on to a good thing.0 -
No, the HP offer trade in is applicable to business machines (ProBook, EliteBook) so valid for everyone really

You just need to specify the business size, no other details. The address can be listed as a normal residential addresses and any email address you like. There are no further checks.
You don't technilcally need to be a registered business. 0 -

If that's the case, then there may be a bargain or two to be had if a suitable trade-in is available. Have you actually been through the process(or know someone who has) to know that no other checks are made?
CashBack has no such restrictions.0 -
I was in the same mind as you, so many to choose from i didn't now which one to get for the best, so managed to get this one from amazon for £211.65 which i thought was a good deal especially for a 11 year old to do home work and face book on
