exclude non paying bidders

Just a plea to sellers to make sure you have your seller preferences set tightly, in particular to exclude bids from people with non paying strikes. The quicker poor buyers realise that strikes are actually something to be feared, the quicker buyers will be to make sure they only bid if they intend to pay.
I had a non payer a few weeks back and just happened to notice that she now has two false positives, both left after my strike which means assuming sellers did a full NPB she now has three strikes at least. Yet that buyer is still happily buying several items a week- which means selllers are not automatically blocking her.
Go to site preferences then into buyer requirements and block bidders with two or more strikes in the past 12 months- lets stop these time wasters.

I've already got my preferences tight, and I ensure that I follow the NPB reporting procedure when necessary.
I'll start a new thread on it but I've found that once I do a second chance offer after a NPB, the second chance customer rarely wants the item so I have the palaver of relisting.0 -

I think there is also the issue that many buyers don't understand what a second chance offer is. You've only got to read some of the threads on here that start 'I was offered a second chance offer so seller is obviously a scammer or a shill bidder' how do I report'.
I never used to get any non payers at all, but I seme plauged by them at the moment and I am getting angry quite out of proportion to the problem. That's why I was actually looking at the buyers feedback mentioned in my fist post- I like to see them get NARU'd , silly really, but I do keep an eye on them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If they had feedback then chances are there wasn't a NPB done, as if it is, neither buyer nor seller can leave feedback.0 -
The strikes seem to be a bit meaningless, tbh. I've had several buyers approach me with, "I can't seem to buy your item, because I have too many NPB strikes, but I promise I will pay straight away this time, blah, blah, blah..." I ignore them, but then lo and behold, a new buyer appears and buys the item anyway. I do have my buyer preferences set to exclude new/low feedback buyers without a credit card on file, so that wards off some of them, but in general it seems that if you get too many NPB strikes, just open a new eBay account and away you go - so no wonder buyers don't fear them. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

On Saturday I had one of these pleading emails...
Stupidly I let them buy the item, and guess what! they still have not paid, will have to open a NPB soon, that will teach me!0 -
These NPB's ar a bleedin' nuisance! I sell the odd item on ebay and have been busy with 25 listings in the past three weeks (a lot for me!) and three of those have been NPB's. So annoying! Never used to happen in the past for me.In deep...0

You should really just set the NPB disputes to open after certain amount of days anyway, that way it's almost no hassle0
