Daughters Dissapearance.

I am hoping that someone can give me some advice as I am the end of my tether and dont know what to do.
My daughter lives with her mum and stepdad abroad (Within the EU). Four weeks ago I was talking to my daughter on the phone and she said she would be going on holiday for a couple of weeks soon. Since that conversation I havent been able to get in touch. Ive tried phone, landline and mobile, email, and text messages but cannot get in touch and havent herd anything for four weeks.
I talk to my daughter every week but have a rocky relationship with my ex. We really dont get on. We have been apart 8 years but I get stuff constantly thrown in my face and my daughter used against me. I dont claim to be a saint and at times gave as good as I got. I also have some failings as a father but have always tried my best to do and be the best I can for my daughter.
I am in a position where I dont know what to do to find out whats happened and where she is. I am panicking bigtime.
Does anyone have any suggestions in ways to find her. Although she has been in the EU I believe that she may have moved back to England.
Please guys, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Speak to her mum0

how old is your daughter? I know the salvation army can help find relatives but not sure if there are age restrictions. would you be able to afford a private investigator if need be? do you know any of her friends, does she have facebook where you could send a message?
if you are really concerned that something may have happened to her I'd contact the police.0 -
Whilst I wouldn't normally recommend it do you pay maintenance for your daughter?
If so then I would be tempted to cancel the next payment and see if you get a response as a result.2014 Target;

Surely if you are so worried about her you could speak to her mum.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Crazyguy : Thats kinda the whole point, I am trying but every option of contact is not working.
Marywooyean : She is 8 years old. I have been thinking about a private investigator but really do not have the money to do this. I have applied for a loan to facilitate this but have no answer yet. I have looked at her facebook but havent had any joy as she has it set to private and there is no option of sending a message on there. I have tried phoning her family, but they wont give me any info. I think its not that something has happened but more like she has moved and is not willing to let me know where too. I pay her maintenence for my daughter every month. She has never had to ask for it. When we split up I set up a standing order to pay for my daughter and havent missed one payment even when I was out of work but now im thinking do I put the standing order on hold and use the lack of maintenence to get her to initiate contact. I really dont wanna do this but it is looking more and more like my only option.0 -
Sorry guys, maybe I wasnt clear in my first post. When I say dissapearance I mean that she and her mum and stepdad seems to have upped sticks and moved somewhere without telling me.0

I have no suggestions but do agree with the idea to withhold the maintenance, in the hope your ex gets in contact. Once resolved you can always back pay her so your daughter does nt end up going without.
Good luck0 -

Ok my mistake I pressumed you meant your daughter had gone away maybe with mates.
Perhaps then if they have all gone together they simply do not want to be found and you may well throw a lot of money at this and get knowwhere.
What about grand parents or other family members ?0 -
I think you are right Crazyguy, I dont think they want to be found. This is where it becomes so complex because I have no guarantees that she has even come back to england .0

withhold the maintenance - that'll draw them out. If it doesn't, speak to family and see what they tell you - and speak to them anyway as they can at least let you know they're OK and pass a message on, even if they are uncomfortable with passing on address details.0
