  • Beth, how exciting! Your daughter sounds so brave. Best of luck to her!

Woke up at 6 today for absolutely no reason and couldn't get back to sleep so make venison + red onions + pasta. Unfortunately I didn't have as much meat as I thought I did so it was enough for lunch and probably for tonight's dinner and that's it :( That was my last piece of meat for the month so it's all vegetarian from here. I should plan my meals for next week but since I'm on holiday (half term, though tons of lessons to plan) and it's just me, I'm not bothering. I have a feeling it'll be rice + pulses or pasta + broccoli or mixed frozen veggies till the end of the month, not too exciting!

Did the laundry + ironing. Felt incredibly productive so now I'm postponing the moment when I'll have to open PowerPoint and start doing some actual work. I would really like to take a nap as floormates kept me awake with their partying in the corridor till 2 this morning but I know I won't be able to work afterwards so sleep must wait!

DD rang to say contractions have come to a halt, nothing happening although the baby is moving about. The hosp said if nothing happens within 24hrs she has to go in which will be at 6pm tonight, and be induced. :( Hypno Birthing and MW said 48hrs, she doesn't know what to do. She's been cleaning, washing up and tidying still nothing, She's now gone for a lie down.
I told her to listen to her body and try to weigh up the pros and cons of hosp or home. I think she ought to stay at home tonight and see what happens in the morning.
I'm not an expert in these matters just a worried Mum who loves her kids to bits. :o
MOLLY if you're there, any advice please ??

    Hi Beth,
Im not allowed to give advice on the forum but i would encourage her to keep moving around and listen to her care providers. Also look on the AIMS Website x Good Luck x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Goodness Beth - never ever boring!! We are all waiting to hear about 'our' new baby. Good luck to your DD and I hope it all goes the way she is planning and wishing.
NPM - Thinking of you, wishing you good healthy vibes for getting over that cold. You're having a tough time.
2 chickens in to cook at mo and ready in half an hour. Plan to slice and freeze most in gravy and some in pasta type sauce.
Looking forward to Strictly tonight. Like a Sunday evening, feet up, nice chilled glass in hand and something on telly.
(((hugs))) and good wishes to the poorlies and those who are worried or sad. Yes, Hester, that is such dreadful news of such a young man, isn't it?

DD phoned the hosp at 6pm to ask for advice, they said as it's been 24 hrs she has been taken off the MW call out rota and she should get to the hosp now because they are only allowed to do 2 inducements within a certain time. 1 woman was booked in another was due at 9pm so basically if DD didn't get her butt in there asap they couldn't do anything. God knows what would happen if she didn't make it in time, and what is the other woman supposed to do ???? DD was so upset about having to go in and worried about what is going to happen to the other woman. :(
How can any woman about to give birth be treated like that ? The whole system stinks, no fault whatsoever with staff it's due to bl00dy cutbacks. I am so angry with the failing system.
Geting back to the point SiL2b has taken DD in and they are taking it 1 hr at a time. So, fingers crossed it will be as near a Hypnobirth as possible.
OS wise I have played with DGD outside for 3 hrs this a/noon as it's quite mild here, fed DH & DGD a full roast beef dinner inc HM yorks, Apple cake & ys clotted cream. Played hide & seek, bathed, teeth cleaned, story read, and tucked into bed. And that was just DH :rotfl:
Thank you all for the support you have shown me, it does help.

MOLLY, I'm so sorry I forgot advice is not allowed on here :o I'll have a look on the link you gave, bless yah :A

I would say better a healthy baby and a plan that didn't go according to plan than the other way round.

I had a shocking birth story that it is NOT the right time to share, but suffice to say I love our hospital and I have a beautiful child because of them.

Best of luck and love to you and her, Beth.

** Right decision to go in, edited to add that you hadn't written that update when I wrote my post, I stopped in the middle of writing to talk to that beautiful boy of mine who is stalling going to bed just a few more minutes with the drink trick :) **
