Beth - How exciting, i hope everything goes well!!
I am home from my dads, great girly afternoon with my friend, lots of wine was consumed, she cried (she always does on wine) we had fish and chips, just what the Dr ordered. Was up at 6am and we left at 7 as the cats were fed and watered and they don't need much entertainment in the day.
OH is still in bed, pup is with me on the sofaI may take him for a walk but he's content to snooze for the moment.
House is tidy, joint of beef is continuing to defrost for dinner and i need to wash clothes today. Will start on the shortly. Drying them will be an issue, but i shall cross the bridge when i get to it!
Going to organise my test ride for my potential new horse share today i think, I am so excited.
My first private job has paid toojust waiting for funds to clear in the bank, nice little booster which will pay for OH's birthday present. They've asked me to do another project for them too, which will be good as it will go towards christmas, if i get enough before the big C i will manage to pay for the holiday season without using my normal pay, which will be amazing, and help us get ahead on the bills and debt repayments for next year!
have a lovely day all

Morning All
Aaaargh I just lost a long post
NPM (((((Hugs))))) Cardiff university have proven that hot citrus drinks ( any hot drink in fact) can help with symptoms - I have always given my lot hot lemon or orange with a tsp of honey and a paracetamol so the old fashioned ways do work. I prefer a toddy myself
Echinacea is supposed to cut the risk of getting a cold in half but it can give some nasty side effects.
Beth - I hope you hear some positive news soon x
DH and DD have gone car booting this morning and he just phoned to ask me if I had Thrifty ways for modern days by Martin Lewis. Of course I have :rotfl:
Dinner today is Roast Chicken and I think that I will make a banana custard because I have loads of bananas left even after making 2 banana cakes this week, which are safely in the freezer, not bad for my 50p bargain an hour before the market closed on Wednesday.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all,
NPM I swear by Vit C cranberry juice is good, or there is one particular Innocent smoothie (cant remember the name) that has a huge Vit C content, try and get a few of them, hope you feel better soon xx
Monnagran, lovely post :T
Beth, keep us posted.
Bright breezy day here again :T managed to get 4 loads dry yesterday, have got my bedding in the wm, will do dd's tomorrow, should dry well today.
Dinner today is something with chicken legs, might do a curry, or jacket spuds.
OH and I are off to the afternoon boot sale, got a few stocking fillers there last week, so hope to do the same today, we also need to pop into PC world, to have a look at the computer we want, still waiting for one chap to pay on Ebay, then we can order it :T, also need to pop into Lidl for washing liquid, had tried a new one from sainsbugs, but it makes us all itch.
Lawns need doing later, and the hedge needs a cut, but I may do this tomorrow, more listing on Ebay later too.
Have good days all xx0 -
Just had a long chat with DD, hosp let her go home at 11.30pm she's had contractions all night but no patern as yet. She's as cool as a cucumber and so relaxed. Whilst on the phone she had a contraction, she carried on talking very slowly and calmly then said ok it's passed now. I wish hypno birthing was free for all, it's the most painfree birth method. She's off to have a bath, have b/fast and watch a DVD.
The MW is back on duty as from 9AM today so a home birth it will be. :j:T:j
Hope I'm not boring you all, I'll try to keep my posts to a minimum, apart from DD, SiL2b, DH and me your the only others who know it's happening. DD wants to tell the rest of the family after the birth. Just had to share with my friends on here. x:D

Beth - It's so exciting, it's not boring at all, keep us informed!
Monnagran - That's lovely, have a good day.
Not much happening here today, DD and BF have gone off to see DS2 in Edinburgh so I got up to make millies for him and his flatmates ( I like to keep in with everyone). They are all off to a car boot sale, don't think DD has ever been before, glad they are spending some time together. DS1, GF and baby may visit today, not sure. After all that has happened lately it would be good to see them but I wont stay in on the off chance if they can't be bothered to let me know.
Washing ongoing, will have a clean round today, the bathrooms are due a scrub. It's not so cold here today but it's not drying weather either.
Have a good sunday all, take care. XX0 -

Good morning everyone!
Had a very economical 2 hrs walk early this morning, watched the sun rise so that was a free treat. I'm just back from abroad and had an interesting conversation with my cc provider last night - having had transactions refused!! - my card is blocked as the details were fraudulently used to withdraw 3 large sums of cash in the Phillipines of all places! So am waiting 3-5 business days for a new card which means no spending until Friday, a NSW in fact!
Had hoped to visit the supermarket sooner rather than later but this is a great time to start making inroads into my packed freezer and storecupboards. Every cloud, eh?
ETA: Brunch has been home-made butternut soup from the freezer with rice. Delish and autumnal.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Beth- of course you're not boring us,you know we like babies on here :DI'm glad she will be able to stay at home-I'd never heard of hypno births.Glad you're pain free at the moment as it all sounds very busy xx
Monnagran- lovely post
NPM - I swear by Manuka honey, usually melted in a cup of hot water and fresh lemon(and sometimes a tot of whisky-the only time I ever drink the stuff!)I got some last year from Mr S that wasnt quite as dear as the health shop, but this year my @ldi have some and its £3.99,so I've stocked up-its Active 10+,whether its as good I cant say yet but I thought it was worth a try.I find it a strongish taste but ok in a drink. If I dont want a drink I'll just have a spoonful and think of it as medicine:D I think Vit c combined with zinc are pretty good too, there is an effervescent one(boots? not sure) and 7seas used to do a blackcurrant flavoured capsule.I am not offering med advice here of course, just my experience/opinionHope you feel better soon.
Pork fillet for tea,we may go out later to see DH elderly aunt & uncle to show them some pics of our new DGD.Just catching up with the papers.
I'm a bit fed up as we upgraded our Sky+box to a HD one, thinking we could put the spare in DS room as his is just standard one and cant record. We had loads of programmes stored on it,but it won't work in his room,we have the multi room thing so not sure why?Anyone come across this? There are some progs I really want to see, plus he could record his own stuff and not clutter our box up
Anyway sorry to waffle-hope you all have a lovely day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all,
Beth that is not boring news, rather exciting I say!!!!
It's dry here today so washing on the line but it does feel like a storm is coming?? So will keep one eye on the windows at all times to catch that rain :rotfl:
Well DD'd headache yesterday has turned into a full on illness!! I'm just not used to this, she is 6 next week and I can count on 1 hand the amount of times she has been ill  She's on the sofa with a pillow/blanket and watchin a film. Will keep an eye on her as when she does get ill it really knocks her down
So not goin anywhere today, perfect excuse to clean, clean, clean as dd isn't able to follow me around and pull everything straight back out again :rotfl:
BM is nearly done, love the smell!! I'm so lucky and grateful I had this given to me for free :j
Pork chops for tea, had already pulled them out to defrost last night before dd stopped eating  more annoying as it's one of her fav meals. The smell might tempt her so will do with roasties and veg, stuffing and if she doesn't want it, I guess that's my tea 2moro sorted :rotfl:
Well have a great day all and big hugs to every1 xxxMarch grocery challenge 147.28 / 150.00 :j
