I think the general public are a pretty fair minded bunch and this board has plenty of nice people on it. No one likes bullying and regardless of what people may have thought about the sanity of my equity challenge or my posting style, plenty of people are against others being forced from the boards (and dervprof has made it clear he would like me to move on, he has posted the "go to the MFW board" a couple of times before.
I seem to remember a while back that you also offered advice via a PM and remarked that the likes of geneer and dervprof were just trying to get under my skin and just enjoyed winding people up and that I should just ignore them. I also remember when I first joined this board I PMed you to offer support as I saw that you were regularly attacked in threads (this was before I realised that it was 6 of one and half a dozen of another).0 -
I'm feeling a little left out now. I didn't realise there was an underground debating club happening by email in addition to the public forum.
I suppose though that the first rule of the underground debating club is that no-one talks about the underground debating club.0 -

I offered advice because you asked for it. You make it sound like I PM'ed you out of the blue.
New advice is to stop treating this as an amateur dramatics society!0 -

As more people are coming onto this thread and talking about the underground debating club, then obviously people are breaking the first two rules! :mad:0 -

Yet you did supply that advice and via PM. I haven't made it 'sound' like anything, I simpl stated the bare facts that we communicated via PM. and you offered that advice. I also took your advice and tried to ignore them, and yet Dervprof, as we can see has pushed and pushed until I (stupidly) responded.
I think all things considered Graham, you're the one who introduces drama onto this board.0 -

I have suggested that a better place to discuss your personal finances is the MFW board.
As I stated earlier, I have thanked and engaged with you on some of your more recent posts which don't mention your personal finances.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

Indeed.
I'm introducing the drama. Of course I am. What else could it be?!
Of course you are just using somewhat twisted versions of the discussion to make out I'm also against Dervprof, when infact, all that was suggested is if it annoys you, ignore it.
It's pretty see through to be honest. All you are doing is having a further pop at dervprof, while trying to land me in it, dragging up supposedly "private" messages, and suggesting I suggested something. I did suggest you ignore him if it gets to you. I didn't suggest it in the manner you are trying to convey.
I'm sure Dervprof will be able to make his own mind up on what I may or may not have said in a private message when he reads "a" version of what was said.
Play games as much as you like. I'm ignoring your latest PM for a reason!
I mentioned dramatics, as one piece of advice to you suggesting that you post your mortgage details and finances on the MFW board as this board probably isn't the place for it, has you turning round and suggesting that posters want to see you removed from this particular board. Nonsensical dramatics.0 -
RenovationMan wrote: »Judging by the number of PMs I have received telling me to 'Ignore the jealous ******"
Jealousy is something that I no longer feel for anyone. There was a time in my youth that I wanted the big house, the fast car etc, and did feel a certain amount of jealousy towards those who have those things. These days I am quite content with what I have, and realise that there are more important things than expensive possessions.
Judging by the number of PMs you have had that suggest that I am jealous of you, it appears that some people are jumping to the wrong conclusion about me.
Put it this way, if I did have the big house, the flash motor etc, I wouldn't be here telling everyone about it every five minutes, I'd be enjoying my good fortune. Fair play to anyone who gets on in life and does well for themselves. Not so fair play if they decide to keep reminding everyone else about their success. Disliking a show off is not jealousy.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
