If you message capital one on the online system they send one straight out. I did and it was on my mat in two days :) Great to buy lunch, bad for saving;)

I have a contactless Capital One card that I've recently had as a replacement for an expired card.

I like contactless payments, I use it daily on my Barclaycard, but the one time I tried it on the C1 card it declined, so I shoved it to the back of my wallet.

Just had a replacement Cap One card and sure enough, it's got PayPass on it.

From what I see, the NFC chip is embedded in the actual chip? Is that right?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

    Capital One - no
Barclays, MBNA, Amex - yes (but maybe not on all products)

Sorry, but you're wrong. Capital one do issue Contactless cards. I know because (a) I have a Cap One Platinum with contactless and 2 because they say so (check the web site - I can't post links capitalone.co.uk / benefits / contactless-payments . jsf):

My Virgin card also has contactless, as does my Barclaycard Premier Debit, Barclaycard Platinum Credit and HSBC now do too (I haven't had mine quite yet).

Personally, I like it and use contactless daily.

Indeed most credit cards have it now, just a lot of debit cards that lack it.
