Sky Broadband without Sky Line Rental

Hi there,

I recently tied myself into an 18 month contract with BT in exchange for free line installation (would have been £130 otherwise) and I have to make a minimum of 10 calls each month or I am charged an extra £5.

Sky Broadband has just been enabled in my area so I was interested in their Broadband Unlimited offer for £7.50 for Sky customers. However, it does say that you need Sky Line Rental to take up this offer. I am guessing that I am unable to do so now that I'm in a contract with BT. Does anybody know if you are able to get broadband from Sky without having your line rental with them?

Thanks,
:)

You can only get the £7.50 bundle when you take a Sky TV package (from £20 a month),with Sky Talk & Line Rental (£12.25 a month)

Cancelling your BT line now would incur a hefty early cancellation charge.

Until recently I had Sky broadband unlimited with BT Line rental/calls, it cost me £12.50 / month.
I recently changed to Sky talk/line rental and pay £7.50 + £119.40 up front line rental.

Just a jheads up on Sky Line rental, simil\r to BT you can pay Sky Line Rental 12 months in advance for £119.40, i.e the equivalent of £9.95 /month.
Thus over the year you save £27.60 over the year.

You have to hunt for it on the website though, or call.

Upfront Line Rental: Available to new and existing Sky Talk customers paying £119.40 for 12 months in advance by debit/credit card– equivalent to £9.95 a month. New 12 month minimum term applies. After 12 months you’ll pay monthly the then applicable Sky Talk Line Rental charge (currently £12.25 a month).

Provides standard Sky Talk line rental, any additional charges to be paid monthly by Direct Debit/continuous credit card mandate. Advance payment is non-refundable. Not available in conjunction with any other Sky offer.

Can I just ask for clarification, because I've been considering Sky, the above suggests that the 12 mths in advance is only available once.

Dunno, Sky are notorious for confusing offers, though since they are competing with BT, who offer a similar product (line rental saver), I'd imagine you'll be able to renew.

Thanks for all the replies. I found this on the Sky Broadband terms and conditions:
Monthly subscription providing you remain a Sky TV and Sky Talk subscriber: Everyday Lite £0; Unlimited £7.50 (otherwise £5 or £12.50 with Sky TV).
So I would assume I could get Sky Broadband Unlimited for £12.50 a month with my BT line as GRM has?

As long as you're a Sky TV subscriber, yes.
