If you want to buy cheap, get a Beko, but not from Argos, their cheaper elsewhere (ie Co-Op)
  • Well it wasn't intentional to buy cheap...it was £250 and was a gift from my mother. Price isn't my concern, it shouldn't be "less" safe merely because it cost less!

My Mothers Beko lasted precisely 14 months, and several friends and family have reported life spans of 3 years and less.

Sad times really, my old Creda went happily on for 14 years without so much as a hiccup. Nothing seems to last anymore.

Hi. Can you let me know what happened with your washer? It's just I have a BUSH washing machine from ARGOS as well. Mines is now just over twelve months old.

I have not had any problems with it. I believe they are made by HAIER which is a manufacturer originating from China.

I thought the telephone number in the instruction booklet was for ARGOS Customer Services. As I say mines is 12 months old, your model/manufacturer may be different if you purchased it 18 months ago.

I paid £180 for mine and got interest free credit. I have nothing negative to say about the machine but am interested how you get/got on?

    Bye just now

If you were paying for the report then i would expect to see the full report.

A machine thats 71 degrees on a 60 degree wash is obviously not right.

My beko tumble dryer has started making an awful noise, 1 month out of 12 month warranty :(

Can't tell you how many folk I've heard say similar. To be honest I wanted the fight, I was ready to contact Argos and Beko over it but Mum said she didn't want the hassle, it wasn't the best washer in the world and she'd rather have a new one so reluctantly we scrapped it :(

I'm going to take it apart and have a look this weekend, I actually had a repair man out when it was still in warranty as the door seal wound itself round a tea towel and snapped (?!), on inspecting his job he had either dropped one of the original screws, or nicked it? and put a bigger one on in its place on the door hinge - making the door loose  (I fixed it). It will be a better choice I suspect to buy a new one on an interest free plan and pay it off, than cough up the £100+ cost for another repair expert to come out!!

This is of course nothing to do with the topic, but hey! :D
  • Hi OP ... I know this is a bit late, I thought I'd throw my 2 pence worth in here :-)

We have a Whirlpool Washing machine and when we wash the bedding at the advised 60c , our glass door gets extremely hot to the touch. I feel the burn and so we lock the kitchen/diner when it's on that temp so that my 3 year old doesn't get scalded. My husband however, thinks i'm over-reacting and a bit of a wimp as he can hold his whole hand on it for at least a minute.

I guess we're all different! But washers are clearly not :-(
