The main estateagents in Hull are reedrains.co.uk, moveinhull.co.uk and then places like halifax, larards, "beecock, wiles and wicks", william h brown.

The newland ave, beverley road, cottingham road, princes ave areas are in my opinion worth a look as their a massive student population and also allot of developments in terms of trendy bars and regeneration. You probably looking at between £65-90 for 2/3 beds.

I'm in the area so if you want any advice, drop me a PM.

the two mentioned im afraid are nowhere near the 2 main ones. Beercocks is the biggest by far. reeds are willerby based and ive never heard of the others! Beercocks always undervalue as they have to run 6-7 shops.

I wouldn't buy anywhere else than hu5 £65 - £90 k is extremely optomistic. The dukeries are now getting £110 which is silly money for there i think. If you can find me a 3 bed for £90k ill take it!!!

saw a 2 bed on cranbrook for good money yesterday i think
  • vik1491 - you should seriously consider moving up North yourself - the beer's far better than the beer in Luton just for starters (and they actually know what a head on a pint of beer looks like too) ;)

I'm thinking about maybe buying in hull as prices are extraordinarily cheap there and it seems to meet many of the requirements specified in a book I am reading: regeneration, industrial, good transport links...

But are they extraordinarily cheap for good reason like low wages, falling population as people migrate south and plenty of land available for new build?

In any city, if you buy in the "extra ordinarily" cheap areas - you will get extraordinarily rubbish property, and generally, poor quality tenants who need very high management.

no not at all its ghetto land and you only live their if your a drug abuser, unemployed, single parent. Hull has the largest council estate in europe and you wouldn't want an enemy to live in it.

A lot of the regeneration areas are going to be demolished and the have already got demolishion orders put upon them and not all estate agents and probably solicitors in hull would tell you that! apart from taht its reallyup and coming!
