Southerner wishing to buy in north

Hi. I am interested in buying a buy to let house up north however I live in luton. I wanted to know whether it is possible to find any estate agents in my area who deal with properties in the north. Also is there anyone who has experience in the matter. Do you constantly have to go up north to maintain your property? Or are there agents who can handle such responsibilities?
Thanks
Thanks

"The north" is a truly vast place - in fact just as vast as "the south" - there are actually towns, and water supply, and shops and everything !!!!
sorry - puts tongue back in cheek !!
do you know which county at least ? or town ? if so https://www.rightmove.co.uk will show you what property is for sale0 -
My BTL is up t'North.
If you rent the house through a Letting Agent you can pay them to manage the property for you. If yoy do that, you may never need to venture up the M1.
Of course, you may wish to manage it yourself which would need a trip or two up t'North each year. Not the end of the world as your mileage and accommodation could be off-set against tax (in certain circumstances).
My belief is that the North would suffer less in a property crash but I could be wrong, of course.

I'm thinking about maybe buying in hull as prices are extraordinarily cheap there and it seems to meet many of the requirements specified in a book I am reading: regeneration, industrial, good transport links...
Also can anyone explain why house prices have increased in burnley by more than 30%?! From what I have read about the place on wikipedia it doesent seem as promising as somewhere like hull.0 -

'Fraid not, I have family looking after the day-to-day business of the house. I only visit when absolutely necessary (the house that is, not the family).

Maybe it's because people from Luton keep buying all the houses for BTL
Or it could be the easy commute to Manchester and the cosmopolitan northern lifestyle;)0 -
Blackpool may be the place to keep an eye on.
Prices here are well below the national average, and £2.5 billion private investment is in the pipeline IF we get the nod for the super casino licence.

The main estateagents in Hull are reedrains.co.uk, moveinhull.co.uk and then places like halifax, larards, "beecock, wiles and wicks", william h brown.
The newland ave, beverley road, cottingham road, princes ave areas are in my opinion worth a look as their a massive student population and also allot of developments in terms of trendy bars and regeneration. You probably looking at between £65-90 for 2/3 beds.
I'm in the area so if you want any advice, drop me a PM.
