Frontline cat and dog flea control

Just done a quick check...
Difference seems to be the effect on eggs in soft furnishings, e.g. bedding:
"it breaks the reproduction cycle - (so ridding the house of fleas)
this combo contains both fipronil and methoprene"
http://uk.merial.com/data_sheet/frontline_combo_cat.asp
But hey, I'm not a vet, so don't take my advice. Just be aware there are two types and don't compare apples with oranges on prices...0 -
Thanks, I'll checkout the vets price for the combo tomorrow to compare. Seems like a big difference in price. No reliance should be placed on the above.0

Our vet charges double what they are quoting online (for Adv. 40) but it needs a prescription. Seems to do the same, does anyone know if it is better the same or worse than frontline?0

I've been using Frontline but just recently the effectiveness seems to wear off after only 4 weeks and they recommend treatment every 6. Is it the weather?Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0

Glad someone brought up the question of effectiveness.
I use frontline - as recommended and purchased from the Vet, but cannot honestly say it has stopped my cat scratching completely - and seen the little beggers as well, so I know he has fleas - making me itch just typing this.
I will have to check if I use the combo or other one. Maybe need to check with the vet to see if there is anything stronger.
We also live near fields, so maybe I need to take that into account.0
