Nora do you do special requests? My housemate needs a new lilly vase but she only likes black and bright pink. I was meant to message you yesterday to ask, but I forgot oops! It's her birthday today and I completely forgot even though we had a bbq. But she says it's ok to get it to her late if it's going to be handmade :)

Sure - will pm you my contact details, so we can avoid upsetting the MSE-Gods! :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about the latest set back Nora, but so pleased that you've found the positive and are working out the next strategic move (have you considered Surrey/Hants....I seem to be running out of chocolate and am more than willing to help you declutter yours).

    Hello Nora,
I'm so pleased to hear that despite the family row you're firing on all cylinders again.

I think we may live very close to each other now too! Ooh, how funny if we've crossed paths and even maybe spoken to each other before and don't realise.

Well done for negotiating half price for 8 weeks. That's a good MSE outcome. It's also nice to have things in one place too!

Happy launchpad landing. I hope it all goes well for the time you need it.

keep your chin up petal, I had a lousy year where nothing seemed to go right until I took charge of my destiny a bit more and just sort of went for it!
You will be fine, keep your long term goals in mind and believe in yourself, who knows what could happen? x

    Hi Nora

Oh dear sounds like you are in need of those counters!

Sorry to hear about the family row - glad you are feeling positive about the temporary relocation though.

I completely understand about the storage thing, it sounds a great idea to me - having just spent the long weekend with my FlyLady books, I absolutely agree that feeling sorted and getting your attitude back is really helpful in getting going on everything else.

    Afternoon dear reader....

    Evening... :p
It's been a while since we curled up on the sofa with a cuppa and time for a chat. I've been lax in my attentions - for which I apologise, and hope you'll forgive me....

For my part, I've missed you all something chronic - but I'm back, and here to stay for the next little while.

Not to go into details, but a huge and deeply unpleasant row with an aunt over the weekend sees me homeless once again

    :grouphug:

I hope that wasn't over the big W.
(albeit with a streamlined family - which will be very MSE come next Christmas).

:T Every cloud and all that.
Since I've been trying to move into that place since this Christmas just gone, I think we can finally conclude that Kent just isn't my county!

It's full of southerners for one. Anyone south of there is even more wet than they are...
So, having trekked over the Dartford toll 4 times in the past 24 hours (and without even a sniff at Bluewater or Lakeside shopping malls, which is just rude...rude, I tell you!!),

You don't want to go there. You'd only end up with more crap to sort out.
I had time to realise that everything of mine which isn't already in storage has now been moved around and shuffled so much that I honestly don't know which garage, house or car anything is in (incidently, has anyone seen my razor...my legs look like Cousin It!).

    With sunglasses too? Cool...
And I'll telll you that it's really got me down.

    :grouphug:
This morning, however, I decided that enough was enough - and that I'm forever reminding people that we make our own luck etc. etc., blah, blah...and took myself off down to a local storage company. After a lovely chat and a cuppa with the ladies in the office, I'm now the proud 'tenant' (I did check, they won't let me put a bed in....) of a small lock-up for the next few weeks.

Half price (ticking my MSE box),

    :T

You certainly are effective when you get going.
and with enough room for me to sort, repack, and - importantly - work out what can be sent off towards ebay. I know many would see it as a waste of money

Money is not wasted when it makes money. Money is wasted when it brings no pleasure.
    - but I'll tell you that just a couple of hours after really hitting a bit of a 'woe is me' wall, I'm back up and running again. Motivated to get everything sorted within the 8 weeks I've paid for, and to get my ebay clicky fingers going again.

I'd see the doctor about those...
So, yes I'm back at mum's - but suddenly it really does feel more like a launchpad rather than a hideaway, and I'm going to be just fine.

Hurrah that you are back :jas your posts always make me chuckle.

I think extended families are mainly there to try us. My SIL did a reading at our wedding and was overcome by hysterical sobbing before she even got to the lectern. All anyone can remember about the service is that she couldn't get any of the words out....

I think the storage sounds like a fab idea as it is stressful not knowing where everything is plus you must have done a good mse job to get a half price deal. :money:

Hi Nora, glad to see you back again with us. You are more than welcome to come to the (currently soggy) East Angles of the country we have a spare room (avec boxes lol).

sometimes getting control of things and a change of mindset is just what you need, you're not hiding out your strategising and minimalising your belongings.
Glad Nora's thoughts seem to be doing well. I've still to go searching for those buttons - why is it knitted things end up sitting there waiting for the last element?
