Superfibi you have managed to post on a fairly old thread, right under where I said this:

So what did you think when you watched it? Surely the advice was clear?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Please would someone give me some advise!
I was issued with a PCN 2 days ago for parking in a disabled space for all of 7 mins. I do understand that i should have not parked there however i was taking my elderly grandmother to Argos and she cant walk too far and need to have the door open fully to enable her to get in and out.
On my return to the car i saw the PCN on my windowscreen and was horrified!!!!
I have since found out that the Private company - UKPC need to have proof that it was me driving the car for the ticket to be valid. My partner is telling me to ignore the ticket or call them and tell them i was not driving and refuse to tell them who was. Apparently the ticket is attached to the person driving as appose to the car!!!
Please could someone help me out, every penny counts this time of year!!
    Merry Christmas

I don't understand why you shouldn't park there? If you are helping somebody with reduced mobility you have every (moral and legal) right to use these spaces, that is what they are for!

You can sleep easy though and ignore everything, the only time UKPC go to court, is when they are in the dock for their dodgy practices.

efctoffeegirl - you say that in the UKPC photo it was clear that your badge was in the window. In that case, although the Blue Badge scheme does not apply in these car parks, then ignore them completely and rest assured that, in the highly unlikely case they take you to court, not only does the BB not apply, but even if you do play their silly rules, it's clear that you were actually displaying it anyway and they have no 'case' either way.

superfibi - ignore them completely - refer to the previous post that quotes the Blue Badge holder's handbook - the disabled bays in private car parks are a courtesy and they cannot demand you display a badge that isn't valid for where you're parking.

Superfibe, as your passenger was disabled , and the car park is private, blue badges don't apply, and they risk you citing them for direct disability discrimination under the Equalities Act 2010, if they are silly enough to try court. That trumps their pathetic invoice and it could cost them dearly (not that they would pay up).So ignore and then ignore them some more

efctoffeegirl same packdrill ignore but keep photo, their pursuit of yourself with a badge on display would again be failure to make a reasonable adjustment contrary to the Equalities Act 2010, amounting to direct discrimination, so that would be part of any evidence you would submit if they were silly and did court.

Got a letter today from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd. saying UKPC will take £120 or are issuing County Court proceedings.
Also done a check on UKDATA.com and came up with nothing in the address they gave (Ashton Under Lyne, OL6 0ES
    Ignore?

How do and where can I post pics up of the letter?

Place any scrubbed letters here, ensure you wipe off any information that can link to you , host them on https://www.photobucket.com and place links in that thread.

And please don't pay them anything
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

If you pay then £120, they will come back and say "sorry it was late, please pay an extra £50", as once they have got a payer they will try and shake them to get some more money out of them

Did you actually pay the original ordinary ticket charge from the machine? As blue badges are not valid in private car parks, if you paid the original ticket, you're playing by their rules in the first place. Shame you didn't ignore it in the first place - hold your nerve and ignore them again.
  • Not paid anything at all. Dont want to really.
