Got a letter from UKPC with a black and white photo of my car in the parking space at the top right of the letter, looks all very "official". Says that 14 days have passed and that the amount has now gone up to £90!! and that they have obtained my details as me being the registered keeper.

Tell her not to. There is nothing that they can do about it. I've worked in both public parking and private parking companies and I can tell you now even one of the UKs largest PPCs sends out bluffs in the post.

Ooo you've got a pretty picture actually showing the lack of a worthless (on private land) piece of paper. Better than some photos of the back of the car or the side of the car

Show her the Watchdog video linked in 'welcome, please read before posting'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Please would someone give me some advise!
I was issued with a PCN 2 days ago for parking in a disabled space for all of 7 mins. I do understand that i should have not parked there however i was taking my elderly grandmother to Argos and she cant walk too far and need to have the door open fully to enable her to get in and out.
On my return to the car i saw the PCN on my windowscreen and was horrified!!!!
I have since found out that the Private company - UKPC need to have proof that it was me driving the car for the ticket to be valid. My partner is telling me to ignore the ticket or call them and tell them i was not driving and refuse to tell them who was. Apparently the ticket is attached to the person driving as appose to the car!!!
Please could someone help me out, every penny counts this time of year!!
    Merry Christmas

Which part of "don't pay them anything" did you not understand. You have no need to explain anything to them, or even to contact them in any way. Disabled spaces have no legal standing in private car parks. Although it is only polite and decent to observe their status. Read all the threads on the subject and also the stickies. Heed the experts!
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
