You're not serious about the snow globes are you? I think I made those when I was in primary school aged about 6. Who on earth would appreciate one of those? Give it to a small child and they'd smash it or try drinking it. An older person would just think you are a real old cheapskate!
Oh dear.Pennylane, I am sure that you didn't intend to be rude to Bramble, but sometimes posts can come across in the wrong way and appear more abrupt than they were intended to be.
Sometimes I think it's best to read a reply twice before clicking 'submit' to a thread, as the people reading my reply are people with real and valid feelings and I would absolutely hate to hurt anyone's feelings just because I hadn't conveyed my true meaning properly.

I thought we might get a few original ideas but it was like she'd looked through every old "Keep your Child Happy over Xmas" book and got a few ideas.
Be honest, would you want a snowglobe? Come to that would you want an elf jacket?:rotfl::rotfl: I truly would not be able to keep a straight face if anybody presented me with one of those.
I like snowglobes and would be very happy if someone gave me one they'd taken the trouble to make. I'm definitely going to try making my own."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I love watching Kirstie. It doesn't matter what she does she always shows enthusiasm (? spelling). If she gets just one person interested in a craft of any kind I think her programme has been a success. If I didn't need my jars for jam & chutney I would love to have a go at the snow globe!

I am watching my first ever kirstie christmas, she is fab, I love her enthusiasm and her willingness to try anything. I wish she was my neighbour, she would be so much fun. I haven`t seen the snow globes yet but so far am inspired to make a wreath and to do salt dough with the grandchildren0

Loved watching the show, not everybody will love everthing on the show and I think its gives everybody different ideas on what may be made, I loved the snowglobes, OK they looked homemade but I would love it if someone gave me one and it would definitely come out every Xmas!!! The show also encourages people to have a go like my daughter who isnt in to craft but wants to have a go at the heart garland - so go Kirstie!!!!!!£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0

I will remember that Pink.:) I never imagined for a minute that anybody could be offended by my remark and am amazed at the response. It wasn't really directed at Bramble (maybe her snow globes will be more "special" when she does hers). But I honestly did find Kirstie's like something a very small child might make.
What was it ... an old honey jar, with water and a drop of glycerine, a plastic snowman and tree and a bit of glitter. There is nothing artistic or creative about that at all and I hand on heart cannot imagine any adult wanting to make one to present to another person over the age of 8.
That's my opinion but I apologise if I have offended Bramble.0 -
I would LOVE to make the candycanes and is now on my bucket list
(I am 27 so hopefully I have enough time to make one) Lets keep it friendly ladies

perhaps you should read your post again then, sorry but you can't sneer at a poster and then be amazed when people take exception.
I don't know why you feel the need to come on every kirstie thread and belittle her and her programmes but please at least try to treat other os'ers with some consideration
and just to clarify, I'm not a fan of kirstie but like a lot of other people on this forum I love crafts and given that there's so little tv time given to us crafters we try to make the most of it... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Well I have watched all of her craft programmes and what she may lack at times in skill you cannot fault her for enthusiasim.Last week one where she made pigs brawn I applauded her as there is no way on this earth I could attempt to make that and I was pleased that he 'bangers' won a prize Ok she can be a bit OTT at times but she does at least smile and throws herself into what ever she has a go at.Lots of things I couldn't make .I have never ever got the hang of a sewing machine, but I enjoy crafting cards and cooking .It makes a nice change instead of seeing never ending cookery programmes (I'm not in the least keen on Nigella or even the 'celebrity chefs'Far too full of their own importance ) So I shall watch it on Catch-up t.v. at the week-end and enjoy it
P.S.plus the fact she is distantly related to my son-in-law:)
