I ♥ the bookbinding! but for the snow globes !!!!
and her "craft making" well it's not what you know it's who you know!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Super programme, I really enjoyed it. We put our xmas decorations up today and we thought the house looked nice but now I've seen Kirstys I'm sort of a bit flat, all that stuff is so much nicer than my shop bought bargain basement stuff.
Still, its a bit like Blue Peter for grown ups. By the time you've bought materials, fabric, glue guns and what -have- you it can end up costing a fortune, and spare money I just do not have.
I'd like to have a go at the bookbinding, and I liked the snow globes,my favourite was the heart garland.
ETA i've just looked at Angels web site, those stuffed hearts are £45 each!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats for 1 heart, not a string of.0 -
I also love watching Kirsty and have picked over lots of tips and ideas I would like to try from watching her programmes. I am going to have a go at the needle felting. I have to take my hat off to Kirsty as she gives everything a go and it is entertaining when she's having a bit of a panic on, even though she won most of the competitions she entered. I also liked the snow globes and would love to do the bookbindinq.0

What was it ... an old honey jar, with water and a drop of glycerine, a plastic snowman and tree and a bit of glitter.
Exactly. Proving that you don't have to spend a fortune to produce a genuinely homemade gift that a lot of people would appreciate. It may not be to your taste but there's no need to look down your nose at those who like them is there? - you could keep that to yourself.
Those little hearts that made up the garland proved just the same. Oldtractor points out that individual ones are £45 on a website - unbelievable but presumably someone's buying them, and anyone here could make one of those and enjoy them.0 -
I like watching Kirstie - and I don't know why people keep slagging her off for going to the experts in whatever craft it is she is doing! Surely if you want to learn how to do something well, you get the best teachers you can? And if you are doing it for a tv show then even more so!
Why on earth would you do otherwise?
I don't have funds for good teachers myself, but am glad she has shown what can be done and pointed people in the right direction. And I love her house!
Anyway haven't seen the xmas programme yet - looking forward to watching it tomorrow with the children.

:eek: They are so easy to make. I loved the garland, but I don't think it's very 'christmassy'. Personally I'd have something like that up all year and do a garland of snowflakes or something for Christmas.
I think the children she made the snow globes for will treasure them for years.
It was nice to see the lovely Vicar again.0 -
You're not serious about the snow globes are you? I think I made those when I was in primary school aged about 6. Who on earth would appreciate one of those? Give it to a small child and they'd smash it or try drinking it. An older person would just think you are a real old cheapskate!
I thought we might get a few original ideas but it was like she'd looked through every old "Keep your Child Happy over Xmas" book and got a few ideas.
Be honest, would you want a snowglobe? Come to that would you want an elf jacket?:rotfl::rotfl: I truly would not be able to keep a straight face if anybody presented me with one of those.
Well Bah Humbug to you!
I like them, and something I had take the time to make would be appreciated by my family a hell of alot more than some shop bought gift box.
Edit : I've seen you apology and there is no need to worry! People have different tastes thats allAnnual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

I watch the program, as like some previous posters, as I like to see crafting promoted on TV, and I do at least appreciate her enthusiasm if not all her projects!
One thing I really feel the program lacks though is any safely advice - for example needle felting can be very dangerous - the tool she was so excitedly brandishing contains multiple fine barbed needles, accidentally stab yourself with that tool and it's a painful trip to A&E!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Bramble you make whatever you want ..at least it shows that you have put your time and effort into something that you have made especially for someone and as such that is a priceless gift xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
