How much money do you have in your pocket each month once all your bills have been paid?
What is the national average?

At the end of each month we put about £1,200 in to mortgage overpayments, savings and investments. I suspect that if we put aside money we spend on 'stuff' that maybe we didn't have to spend money on it'd be around £2,000 to £2,500 total. Maybe a lot more if we really lived like hermits, but we don't really want to.The_White_Horse wrote: »What is the national average?
No idea. But articles often appear with scary information about a high percentage of people spending all of their money each and every month. However, I'm sure this is made up of people who genuinely are struggling and those who fritter any extra money they do have on cr*p.0 -

sorry, i didn't mean at the end of each month - i just meant - once all your bills are paid - how much disposable income do you have? what you do with that (spend, save or invest) doesn't matter.
I have about £1000 left after all bills are paid (including commuting costs). We are currently a one income family. Once the wife goes back to work, this will increase to a more acceptable level.
This tends to be spent on food and petrol in the main.0 -
Found a pocket. Couple of coins (I think one is some sort of Polish Zloty, the other is 2p), train ticket to Melton Mowbray, and some fluff.
I'll check again at the end of the month to see if anything has changed.0 -

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
