Give your gp a call, they'll be able to give you a explanation of what level borderline means. I'd be the same as you from those results too! Shame they don't put more info on the letter you get! XPlease be nice to all moneysavers!

Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!0 -
You could also pay for a private smear to test to be done before the 3 years are up -if they won't do one earlier on the nhs.
Marie stopes is good and it currently costs £55 pounds.

If they're not testing you again until 2014 then try not to worry. Trust me, if the results were any more worrying they'd have you in very quickly for a colposcopy. I've had abnormal smear tests and some treatment - believe me, they don't leave it 3 years!
By all means, chat to your GP if you're concerned but aren't smear tests routinely done every 3 years anyway, in which case, this is the same as if you'd had a completely normal result."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
im sure its nothing to worry about but to put your mind at rest call your gp and make an appointment to discuss the results.0

I'd make an appointment with your GP if it's worrying you, but at the end of the day if they're saying that you don't need to go back in, they don't seem to be overly worried."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Try not to worry. I had a borderline smear almost 15 years ago. I ended up having teatment which was not painful and then put on a yearly smear programme rather than the usual three years.
Honestly if they suspected that it was serious you would be called in immediatley. Go and have a chat with the GP to set your mind at rest
Take care and good luck

I had a borderline result last year but was booked in for a follow up 6 months later. This showed my body had "fixed" itself and my next appointment is with another 6 month gap. I think 3 years is way off mark; surely that's when they recommend for "normal" results to be retested.

I agree with what everyone else said, talk to your GP - i personally would ask for a repeat test in 6 months.Snootchie Bootchies!0

Try not to worry. As others have said if it was something they were concerned about they would have you in for further tests.
Give your surgery a call though to talk it through if you need to.0 -
Have a chat with your GP, if you are concerned ask for a referral for a private testBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0
