Are you self-employed and working from home? I think you can claim some deductions on your tax return for expenses that you run up working from home - been a long time since i did my own tax return but might be worth checking out if it applies.
As other posters have said, its the amount you use and not the size of the flat that counts. Do you leave appliances on stand-by etc etc0 -
£66 a month!!!
I live in a large 5 bed detached house, which is occupied 24 hours a day, 3 kids and 2 adults the combined electric and gas is £75 a month and I thought that was bad.0 -
We're with scottish power and £65.50 a month for electric AND gas for a 2 bed mid terrace with rubbish insulation for 2 adults and a toddler!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Gas is much much more efficient than electric alone...
Also I think as the size of the house goes up, the cost per metre squared drops a lot, because shared spaces only require heating once and you tend to just add in the extra rooms.0 -
My usage over the past couple of months equates to around £65/month for a 1 bed end terrace and I think that's pretty good for the middle of winter. My usage in the summer is a fifth of that (less than £15/month). Based on what it cost me to heat a similar sized place with gas, I estimate heating with electricity costs me about twice as much as gas.0

which supplier are you with?weaving through the chaos...0 -
I live in scottish power area and my usage for past month was £103.96=£25.96 per week.I live alone in mid-terrace 2 bed with storage heating and house has double glazing, cavity wall insulation and only shower.Loft and boiler are also fully insulated.Think my usage is so high because houses on either side of me dont heat whole house and only use electric fire when their at home which isnt often. With my downstairs storage heaters on at high all the time I stuggle to get temp over 69f.We dont have mains gas so got to stick with electric0

You must be b****y freezing - and in the dark !0 -
I'd say 75/25% was fair - as you say you are in all day using the electricity to heat the flat (which will use absolutely loads).
If I was your housemate I may settle for 70/30% but definitely no lower.ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -
I use electric radiators during winter, and lights, but everything else we share 50 50... fridge, oven, dish washer, immersion heater, washing machine.. can't see how £50 of a £66 bill is fair.0
