Makes a change for those of us unlucky enough to live in the East to get anything at all! We're usually totally ignored when it comes to offers like this.
Hope I'm lucky this time, I haven't been to London for nigh-on ten years because the train's too expensive from where I live.0 -

You obviously missed the £1 ticket offer for Sheffield to Norwich journeys with East Midlands Trains, which ignoring give aways and taking inflation in to consideration was believed to be the cheapest train fare ever.0 -

In what way? Pence per mile or the cheapest physical. I know someone who done a ticket through cashback and actually got them to end up paying for it and giving him money back."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

In that it was a train fare for a 160 mile journey costing £1 which is 1p for every 2 miles.
As Martin Lewis says cashback is not guaranteed. You are not protected if the transaction doesn't track, the retailer refuses to pay out or if the cashback provider collapses. You should look for the best deal and then look to see if cashback is available.0 -
Disappointed I didn't see this in time

Oh i understand that but its still a very good offer.
Though there was a ticekt from Haddenham and Thame Parkway to Wendover that was only 10p in the system which is 11 miles which would be even cheaper than the above.
It doesnt exist now though"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

Actually it would be more as 10p for 11 miles is just under 1p per mile travelled. The example I gave costed 1p per 2 miles travelled.
Fares like the one you quote would be a mistake in the system opposed to an offer, so get removed once a lot of people start asking for it. The £1 offer on Sheffield-Norwich was an offer by Stagecoach Group.0 -

Well, since I live neither in Sheffield or Norwich I can't see how that would help me much? I went to Sheffield once (not by choice, my car broke down on the way to Hadfield (also known as Royston Vasey!) and I had a rather unexpected overnight stay). Can't say I'd want to do it again!
If I lived in Norwich it wouldn't be such a hassle getting to London as I could take advantage of any number of lower fare offers for booking weeks in advance. However, I live in West Norfolk and no such offers are available to me unless I drive to the nearest big stations either in Peterborough or Cambridge, which kind of defeats the object of taking a train!0 -
Yes this confused me aswell when i applied yesterday, makes it's sound like a competition and a giveaway although it obviously can't be both it's either one or the other but i have no idea which it is.I_luv_cats wrote: »Bit weird, said something about entry being successful or not (what does that mean?) and complimentary tickets to be sent 7 Nov.0
