New to Broadband, which to go for? merged threads

the problem with merging threads like these is they get confusing and people tend to not get the replies they require as people dont bother reading it all.

once a thread has been answered it will soon drop down the list and so no real advantage to merging

May I ask again then, we arejust getting Broadband in our area, I do not know the first thing about it, it all seems very expensive, I had a look at fast4net, but for £6.99 a month , is there a catch, do I take it that you need an isp as well? We are on normal BT landline. Cannot get to grips with it at all, ie supplying free modems and things like that, any help to a newbie on broadband would be really appreciated, thank you, regards oap

as of yesterday ntl upgraded there broadband so for 17.99 you can get 1mb broadband and the free phone line rental

Just tried it...NO LUCK...:(

They said well give us 30 days notice and then you can go to BT.

Rang NTL sales...same thing..only offer is 17.99 a month for BB 1mb and 1st months free.

Is this the best offer around for someone like me on a NTL line and trying to keep the cost down?

Please help people.
