AVG and Outlook Express problems

I am having problems with AVG free and OE. I can receive mails fine, but when I send them they do not arrive and I do not get an error message for hours after.
I am on Pipex and am using Pipex's SMTP addy as needed.
Can anyone help?

Done that. Not working still

Have you had this problem long, made any changes recently? You are using the current version aren't you - V7.5? I'm not aware of any issues when using OE with AVG.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I'm sure this is one of the occasions when uninstalling and re-installing AVG is the fixEx forum ambassador

Hubby can send using OE and no AVG same email account.
Yep new version. New hard drive so I have to set it up all again.
Closing AVG makes no difference though, I still cannot send. Is AVG the problem?

Don't think that you can uninstall OE but there may be a repair option. It would not take long to uninstall AVG and start with a clean install though.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Uninstalled AVG and I can send.
Will try installing AVG again.

Is he doing this on another computer or account?
double check your spelling i tend to put smtpath.

Phew seems fine now.
Must have messed up the first time round.

there was a bug in AVG that did this same thing just before xmas, maybe your main AVG program never got updated properly when they fixed itEx forum ambassador
