Vanquis credit card charges, advice needed!!
Comments

Hi Guys
I wrote to Vanquis on 12 November 2011 reclaiming my PPI charges and have not heard anything from them. The account is still active and I have an outstanding balance.
Any advice on what I should do next would be greatly appreciated.

Hiyah
I would send another letter but put 2nd request at the top, if no joy with that then you could complain.
My account had been paid off and they offered to pay all my charges applied to my account, I have yet to find out if I have PPI on the account.0 -
Vanquis have a filthy habit of deliberately IGNOREING customers letter requests! there only interest is SUCKING as much cash off you as they can and keeping itPPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0

hi
i sent of the online form from here roughly 2 weeks ago and received a reply within 10 days stating 'we do not offer PPI against our credit cards but we do however offer Repayment Option Plan. the Repayment option paln is not an insurance product and does not make payments on your behalf.'
the letter went on to say they had listened to my call when the card was taken out in February 2008 and i had a greed to this sothey are not reimbursing me.
i have since sent a letter back asking for a copy of the call, a list of all charges applied to my account from the beginning and details of how the repayment option plan would have benefitted me in my line of work (i am a civil servant who would be entitled to full sick pay).
has anyone had a similar experience???? or had any success????0 -
Vanquis offered to pay me my fees back, without the interest. It took a few months before I got the cheque though.0

Hi,
I've only just found out that Vanquish closed my account back in November 2010. I don't recall receiving a letter from them and they have continued to charge me interest and late payment charges for the last 18 months or so...
Can they do this, I would have thought if they've closed my account then they'd only recover what i owed on the credit card. I've got an agreement with them to pay the remainder off without interest but was wondering whether it would be worth complaining with a view to recovering all the interest and charges from the date that they closed the acccount?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks

It doesn't sound like they closed the account in November 2010, but rather suspended it to prevent you adding more debt to the money you already owed them and were not repaying in line with the agreed terms.
Yes, they will continue to charge interest and fees until such time as you repay them all the money you owe (including accrued interest/charges)
Debts don't just disappear ...
As you now appear to have an agreed repayment plan in place that includes waiving interest payments, then there should be no additional interest added, nor further late payment fees, assuming you do keep up with the repayment plan you have both now agreed to."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

Hi, I have had the exact same letter yesterday from them. I am going to follow your advice and ask for records of the conversation and a list of the amounts I have paid. I am going to take it further and fight them all the way! Have you got any updates on what happened with yours?0 -
