Vanquis credit card charges, advice needed!!

Hi all,

Just wondering if it is worth trying to reclaim charges from my vanquis credit card . The charges would probably all be £12 ones over the last 3 years or so. Has anyone had any success lately with Vanquis? Had a look around the site and cant really find much up-to-date reclaiming attempts or successes (could just be me being stupid lol)

Thanks

Can I ask - did you have to pay the standard £10 fee?

    Hi samtoby

I received a letter back from vanquis today after the 1st template letter i sent on monday asking for all default charges & any ppi on my account, and they returned my cheque of £10.00 stating they do not charge £10.00 for the information I require.

Hope this helps, and good luck.
  • can anyone help me.

I have been away for the past year traveling and had a vanquis card. I set up a DD and payments came out over the past 12 months. I just got back and when i left i had used my card up it limit of £250 after 12 months of paying my outstanding balance is £570 and credit limit £250. I spoke to them today and they said i went over my limit with interest and they have been charging me charge after charge each month plus taking my DD every month.

please help and advise on what is best to do. I have paid them by DD over the past 12 months nearly £400 and then still want another £270 to bring me under my limit.

Do i have a leg to stand on to get this money back

I can not see why its not worth an attempt. But I have done this with MBNA and they advised my account will be closed. So I paid off the last bit and now I am going for it. Nothing to loose....see note above from another user who stated they did not have to pay the £10 SAR Fee. :jSamantha

  • Hi All

Just to let you know I've had a response from Vanquis preparing to offer me £90.00 for all default charges on my account, but they have not mentioned anything about the PPI on my account, which I am sure I mentioned about in the letter.

    Any advice URGENTLY?????

Have they told you how much the charges actuallu are....PPI I do not know much about, but I guess you write back with whether you accept or decline and request what is happening with the PPI?:j

    Thanks sam x

I only asked what my default charges and not the PPI, so have requested the original credit agreement.
