Right, I'm off as well, I'm afraid - falling asleep in the corner at a party is somewhat embarrassing, I find. ?
/QUOTE]
Going missing from your first works Christmas night out and being found asleep under the pile of coats is worse - trust me. It may have been 20 something years ago but I still remember the embarassment of discovering the party had come to a premature end so everyone could search for the new office junior (me).0 -
Morning All
See you had another party last night:rotfl: You lot are unstoppable.
I missed it - too busy packing cos we are off on our hols for a week today.:j:j
Not sure what went on yesterday but I think Redlady is right and someone has nothing better to do than make up new identities to upset the thread by having a go at individuals. Ignore them FTM I like all the chatty posts as well as the recipes and money saving tips and three new babies on the way is wonderful.0 -
Morning all
Sorry I wasn't able to stay for the party, but I needed my beauty sleep as I'm expecting my 10 month old DGD here this morning. As for mixing the Lifstyle with alcohol, I agree that it's ok in a longterm relationship, but I felt it safest to propound the expected wisdom for any newbies who may be thinking of dabbling. I've seen the damage a drunk Top can do & also seen said Top restrained & given a good talking to by a very cross sub. Oh I miss the joys of the 'After Market Party.
Mrs Chip, I probably don't look good in leather really, but it is all about attitude & no-one argues with my bull whip when I make it crack!
Hugs Hester

I'm starting to think my "normal" lifestyle is the "alternative" one :rotfl:
I am sat waiting for Mr T to make his delivery - saves time and money. I have shed loads of work to do - i think i even need to draw up a timetable! :A
Missed the party as i was out at the flicks. DD hasn't had a lot of fun over half term so we treated her to a film and dinner as DS was staying overnight at a mates. Spent yesterday sorting financial things which is always a bit dull and took far longer than we thought.
Friends are coming for dinner tonight but as they are arriving quite early i am going to do a rolling starter of different breads and veggie sticks with dips. Am venturing to make baba ganoush - is it easy? Is that how you spell it?I think a fair amount of alcohol may be consumed later.
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
:j:mad::j Drat and blast and double-drat, I've missed another party on the thread. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed yourselves, ladies; reading this thread is nothing if not mindblowing; domesticity plus...........other things. Still chuckling over the crotcheted gimp mask..........:rotfl:
Flowertotmum, many many congratulations on the new family members who will be with you in a few months. Don't knit yourself into a frazzle, hun.
Well, the veggie chili in the slowcooker worked pretty darned well, if I say so myself (pauses to buff fingernails on jammie-top lapel). In case the waiting world is interested, I shall tell you how I did it (and then I shall have to kill you).
Veggie Chili in slowcooker:
8 oz dry weight savoury TVP (soya) mince
2 medium carrrots
2 sticks celery
2 yellow peppers
4 red chili peppers
1 large onion
1 tbsp veg oil
1 pint veg stock
2 400g tins tomatoes (memo to self; replenish hoard)
1 400g tin kidney beans
1 pkt Schwartz Hot Chili con Carne mix
1 tube double-concentrate tomato paste.
1. Pour veg stock over mince in a bowl; it should plump up but not have any loose liquid.
2. Chop all veggies.
3. Fry onions in the oil in heavy pan until softened, add carrots and celery and chili peppers and stir fry for a couple of minutes.
4. Empty in 2 tins tommies, tomato paste and add mince and chili powder plus half a can of cold water. Stir well to combine and transfer to slowcooker.
5. Go to work with slowcooker on Low. Come back 6 hours later and add drained can of kidney beans. Cook for another half hour.
This mix filled my 3.5 litre slowcooker and has made 7 portions, 4 of which I have frozen in individual ex-takeaway boxes. I think you could have cooked it for less time but I wasn't home to check and anyway, nothing untoward happened.I have several of these Schwartz mixes on 3 for 2 to use up then I shall try proper-from-scratch-cooking for chili. Do people think it'd be cheaper? What mixture of spices do people use for chili please?
Well, I'm very pleased to see that a certain lady down in Cornwall is blogging again as she's one of my daily ports-of-call and I'd missed her. D*mned shame absence doesn't relate to imminent bookdeal or something equally fantabulous but we can but hope.
Today is unbelievably grey and cloudy, almost dark as if living under a grey bowl. I meant to do some allotmenteering but it looks likely to have a downpour any minute so will probably leave it a few hours and see how the day shapes up.
Am sooooo jealous of all these jumble-saling sucesses as I haven't been at a good jumbly for a couple of years. I got a brand-new pair of POD boots at one once - for 50p!!!!!!!!! Totally made up and they lasted for years and attracted many admiring comments; sadly, they have worn up now.
Right, mustn't spend whole day playing on MSE (repeats to fade...)
Hope everyone has a lovely day and :hello:to Bobbykins.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Sorry I missed the party folks .... RW got in the way:o
Hope there's no sore heads around this morning - doesn't seem too messy in here (apart from whatever it was that'd been squashed into the carpet next to the sofa;))
Had a bit of a disaster with the beef ..... defrosted it overnight & it was looking a bit "iffy" this morning and didn't smell that fanastic:(. I deliberated and debated and ...... I've cooked it for the dog - I'm sure many people would've "chanced it" but having Crohn's it's just not worth the risk of upsetting an already difficult tum. Mr Pooch will be a happy boy for the next few days!

Morning all! I go away for a few days and come back to find one thread has disappeared
(haven't a clue what happened, but it seems a shame) and this one keeps having drunken parties!! Next time I'll bring my floggers and leather suspension cuffs if you have another one in that vein!
I also have several crates of wine brought back from said few days away - but would agree the two don't mix unless there's a relationship and trust there....
Anyway, I went away with blue skies (and blue skies at D-Land PAris too) and have come home to Autumn well and truly being here - mist and fog, dampness and chill.... Still, might mean I use some of the frozen meat and veggies up finally in wintery food - although my waistline and hips need un-fattening food (the trouble with Disney is I find we always live on croissants, chips and cake!!!):D:o
Off to make my first cuppa of the day - shocking, really, as I've been up for an hour already!!:eek:I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Can't believe I missed the party again - hope no one is feeling too green this morning!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

GQ - Making your own would be much cheaper if you use it a lot - ground spices tend to 'go off' after several months of storage. Better to have the whole spices and make your own mixes as you need them, if you have a pestle and mortar or a spice grinder.
For chilli - no quantities precise, vary to suit your tastebuds:
ground cumin and coriander in equal quantities.
Enough of the following to make about half the quantity of the above mix :- chilli powder, cayenne, paprika (smoked is good) and black pepper
large pinch dried oregano.
And there will be fresh chillies as well...
ETA (now I know what it means!): 'go off' in this sense means just to lose flavour and become like dust!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0
