Sorry to hear you are having such a bad time, I should think your insurance should be fine, so try not to worry too much. It wasn't a pre-exisiting condition, he's a young dog and it was an emergency...not much point taking out insurance if it doesn't cover the unexpected!

Also sending good vibes your way.

Oh Shegar - I'm so sorry you have all this worry, and at the same time as well. Try to get some sleep or you won't be any good to anyone. I wish I could help you.

Kaz - sorry about your Dad too.

Had a bit of bad news last night, my Dad has got prostate cancer and has been passing blood. He's had a cystoscopy which showed a burst tumour in his bladder. He's lost loads of weight this year and is generally in pretty poor shape. He has insisted on a trip to show my step brother and my brother in law where he wants his ashes scattered and is going on Sunday. My sister tried to dissuade him due to the cold but he's adamant that they're going this weekend. He's gone around the house saying who he wants to have what and doesn't think he'll last until his birthday. That doesn't bode well, Unfortunately, I live a good few hours away and he keeps me at arms length. I only find out what's happening from my sister which is very hard for her. I'm very supportive for her o the end of the phone but that's not a great deal of practical support really is it? .

My dad also passed in the summer, and like you had always kept me at arms length although we did speak on the phone every few months and I visited him when I popped up there( long story short I didn't want to have the career he planned for me) so heard from my brother, he had been fine, brother had seen him on the Monday and gone on holiday, dad had a fall on the Friday and sensibly called 999, he went in and just didn't get well, one night they thought they had lost him but he recovered I was broke but managed to borrow the money and got up there, as he lived still in family home in Scotland, we made our peace and he was happy to see me. I got up there two weeks later and was last family member to see him alive. We came home only to receive call he had gone just after we arrived so were back up the next day for his funeral. He had had gall bladder problems for many years and wouldn't have it out and it was that that indirectly caused his death, he was 83. I am so glad I went up and saw him, spoke to him, made my peace with him. If you can no matter what you have planned I would go and see him, no matter how he is with you, you will feel at peace with yourself you did if he does go. Its worth the spoilt plans.

  • Oh Shegar, all I can say is thoughts, prayers and love are with you at the moment for both hubby and your little dog. Try to at least forget the money just now. I hope by now you are tucked up in bed and sleeping as you being ill will not help anyone. My words seem so worthless when you are so worried, wish I could do more. Hugs
