Hardup Hester - happy birthday! _party_
greent - thanks very much for the tip about freezing buttermilk - it says on the pot it shouldn't be frozen, which is why I thought I had to use it. I should know by now that I really need to check these things with OSers rather than accepting what any manufacturer says about their product.
While hunting out a recipe for buttermilk scones I came across another recipe that I think will actually call for me to buy some more buttermilk - precisely how good do these sound? (And a good way to use up the rather bruised apples in my fruit bowl, too - dropping the bag as you take it into the kitchen isn't a great idea, I've found.)
Back after a very long break!0 -

Happy 60th Hester
Pup and I had a lovely time at the seaside yesterday. We walked on the prom for a while then onto the beach where pup tried to eat the sand before noticing the water. Then it was gotta-run-fast-in-big-circles-but-not-too-far-into-the-water-in-case-it-gets-me :rotfl:It was hilarious and a small crowd gathered for a minute to laugh at him. Afterwards we went to get a small bag of chips and sat on the front with our chips and a ham sandwich and flask of tea from home. We know how to live!
My last dog was a very poor traveller but pup loves going out in the car so I'm looking forward to lots of trips out with him in future.
The sun tried to get out here today but it was basically grey and never got dry enough to tempt me into the garden/lottie so I did some mending instead and then some financial planning I've been putting off. If I can't get into the garden tomorrow I may - may - have a go at the attic  I haven't been up there for I don't know how many years and have no idea what's up there! It will have to go - to charity shops, recycle or ebay. I'm determined to get this house decluttered."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
